fab schooling session!

So it's rather boring lol BUT am nearly two weeks post wrist surgery... Did one handed Lesson during week and all went fab, defo makes you concentrate on balance from core and leg when just using one hand! And for first time since I bought my mare we got told we looked like we were the perfect team. .Roll on today and decided to use both hands as wrist well splinted up, omg seriously am still on a high.. We had zero battles with contact and she worked in a beautiful outline for the first time ever in all 3 paces without putting up a fight..really don't.know whats changed but fingers crossed it continues. To top it off went for a short hack on the buckle with my youngest child running ahead, that was how much I trusted my mare today! Nerves firmly in the bin

Thank you very much! It's been a rollercoaster ride literally but now nerves seem to be banished fingers crossed it will be a successful competition year

Funny, that. One of the techniques I often use with very rigid students is to ride with the reins in one hand only, especially at canter.

Well it's done me world of good! So much so am going to incorporate one handed sessions into my weekly routine!
