Fairfax bridles

I looked at them, and asked a few friends who had been on the clinics.

The view was, some horses hated them, a couple liked them. Overall the view was they where not worth the money.

I was in a lesson with a lady whose horse had one, I just thought they looked a bit too much.

I ended up with a PS of Sweden bridle, ive noticed an instant change in my horse. She used to have quite a high head carriage, with this new bridle, she was immediately softer and more relaxed. I had a slight problem with it, in that one of the keepers broke within 2 days. Fair play to customer service, they replaced and sent me a couple of free gifts and a lovely hand written note. I will definitely shop with them again

having seen and felt the difference with the girths I was keen to try a bridle. Had Millie booked onto a clinic and then... she injured herself and put her dressage career on permanent hold. I thought about getting the drop noseband for Kira but she's in a double now so would have been a waste of money.
I'd have to go on a clinic really I think even if I just ended up buying a headpiece, say, as both my horses are funny sizes in their bridles so I would be worried about getting the wrong size.

At the moment I don't think it's the bridle that is holding us back, so have put posh-tack dreams on hold until I win the lottery :D My money is being spent more productively on lessons! :p

I have just bought a copy of the fairfax drop bridle, only ridden in it for a short session. But my horse was much more willing to take the contact with it.

I would probably not buy a real one, but I paid £140 for an almost exact copy from CK Equine. She has also copied the headpiece now as well as the noseband, I was worried about the fit of the browband when it arrived but Cathy has been great helping me out and is very happy to make an adjustment just for me. Definitely worth having a look at if you don't want to spend all that money on a real one. They are brilliant quality for the price as well!

Here is a picture of my horse in it; https://www.facebook.com/FaerieFree/photos/pcb.1470966982914925/1470966782914945/?type=3&theater

I have two and all three nosebands
I like the headpiece very much .
Not keen on the cavesson TBH but one horse goes better in it than a ordinary one .
Another goes very nicely in the drop takes more contact and the risen forward very nicely he goes better in the drip than in a normal cavesson .
I love the grackle it's a lovely design and my tricky horse is very happy in it .
The leather does look dry and stiff when get it but it's lovely now it's worked in .
