Ugh! Not my cup of tea- and can't see them looking very smart either... I mean, if you went and got a black jacket with red lining and some white jods and went all SJer then potentially you wouldn't stick out BSJA...
I'm surprised they're not BSJA legal - unless you mean just the colour. They do come in black and brown as well. I've seen these worn by a number of top riders in the last 6 months - they were even featured in H&H having been worn by someone at an FEI series back in late spring. They were also quite prevalent at SCOPE, so I assume they're OK. But only the black ones!
I think they're a love them or hate them type of thing. When we saw them on stands at Hickstead and then at the Europeans they were certainly attracting a lot of attention - amatuer as well as pro. They're not as plasticy as they look in some of the photos and they do actually have more of a heel than it looks. Having had a play I must admit I do like them. They're a real performance boot. But at twice the price of Ariats - which I also can't afford - they are well off the scale unless someone rich comes along at Xmas!
I hated them when I first saw them but they have grown on me and I now rather like them. I'm not sure I would wear them in the ring, but would rather like a brown pair to wear at home as I guess they will be very comfortable. Sadly they only seem to make them in one leg width and that is too narrow for me. Never mind will save me spending £350 on something I really dont need!
When i see them I can't help thinking of the super heroes ie Superwoman in the red ones, or Zorro or Batman in the black ones. Its probably just me though......
