I see that Admin have finally lost patience and flushed you from the verdant saplings of the beautiful wood that is the Horse and Hound site. I know this may have alamed you, but having you constantly nibble away at the leaves and bark makes you something of an irritant. It's time to trot off to pastures new. At least they didn't shoot you! LOL ROTFL LMFBO etc. etc. etc. xxx

It's all very well joking about this man. However we should not forget that he is a criminal.

The Hunting Act requires the deer he flushes to be shot and he refuses.

Just because the law is ridiculous doesn't mean he has the right to break it.

What would happen if everybody chose to break laws which don't make sense?

You don't know the half of it Bobcats. This guy allegedly threatened to have the husband of a HHO raped and used offensive language towards her son. Another member also was concerned, apparently, about his conduct at a HHO meet-up.

Bloody hell! Not only does he refuse to shoot deer but he is also a rapist?

Does he get away with breaking the rape law openly as well?

What did he do at the meet up?

It doesn't matter to me Bob - I wasn't there. Poor Giles. I wonder where he is now. I hope they give him internet access in whichever loony bin they've put him in, bless his cotton socks.

Just as "this character" thought Chernobyl was a "god send" to the environment, we think he's a "god send" to the anti cause. In real life he may be a perfectly nice sensible chap, but on the 'net we reckon he's a ludicrous buffoon who embarrasses himself and the pros in equal measure.

It's hilarious that of all hunters in the UK he's the one who's been chosen to represent them in the European Court - an eejit who's been banned several times on hunting's highest profile forum, and who indeed may be banned again...

haha it sounds like you spend to much time on the net if you think that this forum has any relevance to anything.

Anyhow I thought Giles didn't hunt. Isn't that the whole point?

Why are you referring to him as a hunter?

I think Horse and Hound is pretty much synonymous with hunting (the clue's in the title). For this Giles person to be banned from their website for offensive and intolerant behaviour is therefore quite significant when he's one of the people appealing to the European Court on hunters' behalf.

To be fair to him though, he's made me doubt my anti credentials. To witness his hissy fit on the soapbox forum and subsequent mauling by the fair ladies there has given me a taste for blood sports. LMFBO!!!!!

haha sounds like a great laugh to me. I suspect he was giggling as much as you!

Anyway to stop playing the man for a while, do you actually disagree with him breaking the Hunting Act all the time?

It does seem that he can just go out with his dogs and break it whenever he wants without getting prosecuted for it.

Sounds like you are awaiting the return of the messiah lol.

You see it seems to me that he is quite right to carry on breaking the law.

Calling him a 'hunter' is a little silly really.

He's just someone who doesn't agree with the law and therefore goes out and breaks it. If there were a problem with what he does I am sure that the authorities would stop him.

mmm sounds like you are skirting the question a little Reginald.

Do you support Giles' breaking the Hunting Act or do you think he should gun down all the deer he flushes?

I don't wish to appear unwelcoming Bob, but I've already said: when Giles returns I'll tell him directly what I think of his flushing stunt, it's the least I can do for the poor befuddled chump.

I'm not getting you Reginald.

Option A) = deer are disturbed by dogs, run out of woodland and escape

Option B) = ditto ditto ditto and are shot dead.

It strikes me that you like to lecture people on what they should do. What do you think Giles should do in the above scenario obey the law or break it?

I would very much hope that as a decent human being you would support him committing crime.

Let's put it like this Bob. You conceded today that hunts artificially enhance the fox population and then kill those foxes in the name of pest control and you made it abundantly clear that you agree with this practice.

I have much more of a problem with that than with Giles's attention-grabbing stunts: a "decent human being" doesn't encourage an animal to breed then declare it's vermin and kill it. Such a person has no authority to lecture others on the stewardship of the countryside, let alone on what is decent and what is not.

Nope not got you. Sorry I may be a little thick.

Should he

a) pull the trigger, obey the law and kill the deer.

b) spare the gun, let the deer live, break the law.

I REALLY think the 'artificial fox earth' thing is a red herring here.
