Farrier Price Check

mine are about £50 for new set, if one falls off (as long as i have the shoe) he puts it back on for free, comes out same day as well.

i'm near swindon.
 
£180 for two full sets, hot shod, and four trims. I'm assuming that's £60 for the sets and £15 for the trims.

In North Cambs and my previous wonderful farrier has left so this is the new one, who comes very highly recommended - even by the old farrier!
 
Was £60, but he has just put up the price to £68

I used to pay £109 for a regular set when I was a student at Hartpury!

Now pay £100 for Romeo (heart bars and equigel in fronts)
and £75 for Charlie. Had wedges on Ro for a bit and that was £184 for fronts only!!!!

£56 for full set hot shod with stud holes. (But this is now 3 horses!!! one done 4 weeks, other 5weeks and baby is 6 weeks!!!) Gives Flynn thicker back shoes too, so they don't wear out as quick!!!
Other horse has different farrier whoose £68 thank god owner pays for him!!!
 
I'm in Worcs, I paid previous farrier £96.00 for new set with stud holes in back shoes only. Think these only lasted 4 weeks at the very most B4 one came off and punctured sole with toe clip! This happened regularly all last summer, shoes were only staying on max 4 weeks, less if I did hard work such as ooh, jumping!!! Farrier blaming the poor quality of my horses feet!!

Add on lost entry fees (BE ones!), vets fees, hoof supplements (!) etc and having my horse shod was a costly affair!!
However I finally changed farrier to an absolute gem who not only charges the princely sum of £56 per set

but they also stay on for 6 whole weeks - even on my mares "blo@dy terrible" feet!!!!!!!!!!

£1 per road nail
£10 trim. Never lost a shoe but we know he doesn't charge. Great farrier too, never been late in 8 years.

I guess the recent fuel prices will force most farriers to increase their prices.

Eaglestone - there is a farrier round here that charges £120 for a bog standard set - suddenly your bill doesn't seem too bad?!

S Wales. Hot shod, £50 new or refit, including road nails. No charge if a shoe comes off. Think it's £12 for trimming. Farrier is wonderful and you can set your watch by him. If he isn't well (once in 5 years) or once his van broke down and he had to hire one while it was mended, he rang the day before to apologise. Howard, you're the tops!

Don't know about fitting a lost shoe because I've actually never lost one with him..........odd I know!

Always get a kiss hello and goodbye, and he makes me feel special, and loves my boy...

I'm starting to sound a bit weird now aren't I..?!

he trims my youngster for nothing
lives on the farm ,is never late , great with the horses and is lovely lol oh and a great dancer at the annual do
 
I'm in Kent, and I have a wonderful farrier. I've just paid £78 for a full set on Mars, (one shoe no nails, gel, bar shoe) and trim for Joey.

He's a lovely farrier, and for my daughters 18th, he made her her own hoof pick, made out of a horsehoe, engraved with her initials (he might have been hinting for Megan to pick their feet out more!!)

Mars is shod once every 5 weeks, but Joey goes about 8 weeks between trims.
 
I'm in Oxfordshire and its now gone up to £72 a set! I was thinking that was really steep, but i'm glad i'm not the only one paying these prices!
 
£60 new set, £55 refits, up to £10 to replace a lost shoe, depending on where he's had to come from (if local, no charge).

100% reliable, best farrier in the world! Had to change when I moved yards, to the "best farrier in the area". I wasn't impressed and changed back when I moved yards again.

I'm in Berks, farrier comes up from Sussex (but he has loads of clients in the area).
 
£55 for refits, £65 for new set, FREE if one falles off FREE is all fall off! DONT pay for a fall off one!!!! I'm in Surrey and clearly have a very fair and reasonable farrier!!!!
 
i am in Yorkshire and i pay £65 for hot shod new shoes with 2 stud holes in each. never have had re fits so havent a clue about that. and free when one falls off!!
 
£68 a full set (with stud holes), and depends on his mood to how much he charges me for a lost shoe, though touch wood we havent lost one for a while!!
