Favourite Horsey Film?

The Black Stallion - Directed by Francis Ford Coppola, about 1979. Beautifully filmed and a moving story. I went with my grandma to the cinema when I was 9 and read all the books in the series. I even got to see the star ' Cassoulet' I think he was called, when he performed at the National Horse Show in Madison Square Garden, New York, in about 1982. Watch it if you can.

I love Seabiscuit, fab film

The Film version of My Friend Flicka. No, not that cr*p one that they did a couple of years black where the horse was black, but the old 1940's (i think, maybe 50's/60's) one. It remindes me of watching old westerns as a kid and getting out all of my model horses and playing with them

lol.

Also love Hidalgo, The Black Stallion and the film version of National Velvet.

Love all these films but erm.... hello!!!!

spirit stallion of the cimarron!! + Bryan Adams soundtrack = Amazing!!

Songs include - "get off my back" "i'm free"

Total tear jerker

lol

Has to be the Black Stallion for me! Most beautifully shot and played (I had to laugh earlier - someone said, correctly, that the horse that played the Black was called 'Cassoulet' - that's true, but it was spelt 'Cass-ole' and he belonged to San Antonio arabians - the laughing bit was that a 'Cassoulet' is a French stew made out of duck, sausage and goose fat!! Not where he would like to end up, I'm sure so it made me giggle

Phar Lap is fab, as is The Man from Snowy River.

I can't actually watch many horsy things anymore, as I tend to cry at the most silly, small emotional bits. Watership Down for example, is a complete no-go zone and its only about bunnies!
