Feed balancers?

Anyone feed them, and if so can you recommend the best one? Am looking for something for my young horse who still has some muscling up do, and is also a bit weak. He also has weak feet so wanting to get biotin into him too. He is currently fed Baileys Keep Calm with molasses free chaff and it doesn't send him loopy, so keen to keep everything low energy!

Was looking at the Bailey's no 19 Performance Balancer or the TopSpec Comprehensive Balancer - any preferences? He is worked 5 days a week, approx 40mins schooling and competing every couple of weeks, but hes not under any significant pressure at the moment!

I have used TOPSPEC Comprehensive in the past but currently use Bailey's Performance balancer and prefer this to the TOPSPEC balancer, my horse seems to like the taste a lot more than the TOPSPEC one too.

Progressive Earth on ebay do great quality supplements & balancer and I know they have one specifically for feet so might be worth a look on there too.

Pure Balance - this is all he gets for a feed! Fantastic. Horse looks fantastic and beautifully calm. He is a native so doesn't need a feed but needs the vits and mins for his cushings.

Thanks all - I am in Ireland and have never heard of Pure Feeds, can't find a stockist anywhere.

So back to Baileys/Topspec then! Anyone else used these?

Not relevant for your youngster, OP, but my oldie looks incredible and he's on TopSpec Joint Balancer, as he's arthritic and I don't need to feed a separate supplement.

I personally rate TopSpec and they do a wide range of balancers.

I feed this to my 21yr old WB gelding and he looks amazing. He just has hi-fi lite and a handful of fibre nuggets with it.

Topspec cool balancer, I feed it to my young fizzy horse, it's specifically made not to heat them up. She looks great on, it's promotes top line, I feed it alongside hi-fi molasses free as she doesn't need high sugar.

I used to feed expensive branded balancers but swapped to Horse &Pony Direct over a year ago and am very impressed. Way cheaper, easy to order online and speedy delivery. Horses look fabulous on it.

I use simple systems balancer. My mare also has poor feet and known to be "reactive" with feeds.

I buy whatever is on special offer at my local feed merchants. To be honest not noticed a difference with any of the horses when I switch to a different brand.

I've used Top Spec but am now using Baileys No 19. Both are very good feeds. When you compare the ingredients there is little to choose between them except Baileys is about £10 per bag cheaper. So Baileys it is for me & my horses.
