Hi! My mare used to love her feed but when very the last few weeks has become very fussy! I had added a calmer and some calm n condition to her usual dengue oil and grass nuts which she ate for a while but started to become fussy with it, eating the carrots on top then tucking into her haylage and leaving the rest. However I'd come to feed her in the evening and the food would be gone! So I've gone back to basics giving her just what she had a few months ago and she's still leaving it for ages!! She lives out 24/7 and ride 3/4 times a week and hunt as often as I can, she's an Irish sports horse who can "drop off" at this time of year so am anxious to get food into her! Any ideas what's up or how to tempt her?? Thanks in advance!

No, it's given you the 'foal' label because you're a new poster :)

If she's eating it up overnight and looks well on what she's getting then I'd just leave the bucket in her stable and let her get on with it. One of mine goes straight to her bucket feed and hoovers it up, the other picks at it a bit and then eats her hay but the bucket is always licked clean by the morning.

you could try adding a little bit of mint but if she is eating it all then she is getting what you give her just over a longer time than one that hoovers it down. does she have plenty of grass and hay? that can make a big difference at this time of year
