If I'm feeding the recomended levels of Top spec feed balancer (not the leisure one) do I need to continue with cortaflex powder? I have been introducing Topspec into Baileys diet since he came back and hes now on the full amount everyday, his cortaflex is getting low - would the balancer be enough or should I continue feeding cortaflex on top? For information Bails is a 20 something skinny TB which is in moderate work will be out most weekends doing dressage, hes aged while away on loan as his work load dropped but is fit again - however I've decided to phase out the jumping. Hes been on cortaflex for about 3 years.

Does the feed claim to also aid joints??

I fed Fred a feed for the older horse with mobility problems plus cortaflex tbh. The ingredients are going to be higher in the suppliments I would have thought surely??

I checked out the topspec website and it said...

• Constructive levels of amino acids, complex carbohydrates, anti-oxidants and MSM to help maintain healthy joints.

It doesn't show the amounts on the website but will check the sack, but I image you're correct and cortaflex will have more of the active ingredients. I suppose I could stop the cortaflex and see shows any signs of missing it, its just so expensive!

Hi,
I'm feeding the Topspec 10:10 joint support alongside the feed balancer for my mare with joint/mobility issues. It seems to be doing a really good job so far *touches wood that this will continue* I'm paying £23.00 for it, and it lasts a month or 6 weeks for a 500kg horse, can't quite remember which!
My other horses are on the balancer too, and have stopped clicking when first out on a cold, damp morning. I didn't deem them needy enough to put them on a specific joint supplement in the first place though, as it was only mild.
If you ring Topspec they have a joint supplement article that isn't specific to their product, they sent it out to me a few weeks ago. Either that or i can scan it in and send to you this afternoon?
Hope this helps a bit. X

You need to maintain some sort of additional joint supplement alongside the balancer as it wont contain enough of the key ingredients you , worth a try though.
