Pointless post but just beaming from ear to ear (in a very OTT sickly gloating way!!
) following a sudden turnaround between me and my girl!
She is extremely obstinate in the school and it has taken me nearly two years of being her mum (!) to actually achieve getting her working nicely and consistently. There have been points where I have got so frustrated with her stubborness, coupled with my lack of funds to get lessons on her, that I have lost motivation to ride and gone weeks without.
Then a friend of mine (Pootleperkin on HHO - so thankyou PP!!) came for a visit shortly before xmas and gave me a few pointers with my riding, and also the best way to get the lazy gee gee listening. From then on I have battled blood, sweat and tears practically to get myself listening to myself and also her aswell. Then all of a sudden the last couple of weeks it has just clicked and it feels like I have a different horse - she is forward, like a feather on the hand and working in what feels like (have no mirrors or anyone on the ground!) a gorgeous outline. Admittedly, there is a long way to go - and despite in walk having a 100% consistency I would say in trot it's more like 80%, but it's a MASSIVE difference and such a proud moment for a bit of a numpty rider like me!!!
Sorry, I have probably bored everyone who has reached this far to drink....
