My health currently isnt good so this doesnt help either, but also in april my horse got very grumpy and we found out he had stomach ulcers so hes been treated with gastro gard with success and he is also on a high fibre diet. Anyway he is now ulcer free and for 4 months all we have been able to do was flat work due to me selling my jump saddle and ordered anew one which we waited 2 months for and saddler messed it up so went to another company who made me a beutiful saddle which we got 2 weekwnds ago...so while we didnt have my jump saddle all i could do was flat when my horse had ulcers he was very grumpy reluctant to canter just didnt want to work so once on the gastro it worked wonders and my horse went back to normal...so we get my new jump saddle bearing in mind we havent jumped for a few months so popped few small fences he jumped what was asked but in between he got grumpy pinned his ears back head up but when he was going to a fence ears forward and over the fence then he would go grumpy again, had a lesson last tuesday and he jumped well little bit of grumpiness in between fences, so after that lesson for rest of the week and weekend done my flat work good as gold no grumpyness, so tonight i decided to pop a few jumps again and he was grumpy again but not with the fences saw fences ears forward loved it. So is he anticipating pain after the ulcers with the jumping now? as i know when he started being treated it took me a couple of weeks or so to make him realise he wasnt in pain anymore on the flat. He is clear of ulcers now and its his last day of gasto gard tomorrow. I have got him some coligone so im hoping this will help as im wondering if hes just one of these horses who suffers with alot of acid build up.
