I recently bought a yearling and tried to introduce her to my two other gelding's the other day and the 'boss gelding' was done when I put her in the field with just him but as soon as the other gelding was out out, the boss was seemed to be very protective over him and was chasing and biting the filly..
I expected some rough 'putting her in her place' but it was getting out of hand and she was getting cornered and bitten until blood was drawn.
Then he boss chased her the whole lengh of the field right on her tail and she needed up jumping the gate (badly) and smashed her front legs and got stuck with the back. The metal gate was actually bent and we thought she broke her legs at first it was such a bang. I'm so unsure what to do now.. I have put both horses in the stable next to each other which seems to be fine but I'm very hesitant to put her back in.
She is 13hh and the others are 16.2 and 15 chunky cob. She is underweight so doesn't have any strength or attitude to fire back with..
Any help or suggestions will be gladly welcomed!?
Many thanks,
Rachael.
