Find Me a Dog?

Just like in the horses :P for those who are good at looking for dogs.
In the north west, must be dog and cat friendly, young adult to any age (oldies considered). Not a brachycephalic breed, or a boxer. up to medium to small large breed(lab size). Easy going, soppy dog that can be left for a few hours at a time, or recommend me a rescue in this area. Minimum 1hrs walk weekdays, several hours weekend and enjoy fetching a ball.
Any suggestions?
Been to the pound, the one I liked is probably going to be rehomed before I can get back with the other dogs to introduce it and fill in the form sadly. The pound was actually very empty I found!
 
bryson is too young, ideally over 2, although the one I wanted at the pound today was only a yr old, but probably fully grown.
Not sure how far AADNE is? Luna on there looks lovely :)
Whitby is too far, I'm based in cheshire though I have my own transport have only just started the search so a bit more local initially.
Good start tho :)
 
Cheshire?! That's never north-east, you're only next door to me and I'm firmly in the middle. :p

I have asked cayla for more piccies of her but you know what she's like.....

I'm determined she will be mine!
 
I know its not north east :P I think someone got confused, ^points to north west
I think I'm going to visit cheshire dogs home tomorrow, see what their like!
 
Looking at AADNE, thicko question alert: I know a lurcher is a type, not a breed, but how do you define it? Not whippet/greyhound plus something, as there's one without either on Cayla's site?
 
Couple of those are a bit big/cant be left but goldie is lovely, if I cant get any closer I'll be going to to visit him definitely. It's North Cheshire, chester/frodsham type area so shropshire qutie far, would be on the if I dont find anything in a week or two list, but a possible or if the right dog came up!

Regan nacked the camera phone, I will get pics, she needs a specific homeI know that, and could do with comin to mine to behonest so she can b assessed abit better with me mam being broken, we have had a few enquiries for her but the hms have not been suitable.

I WILL GET U PICS.

Which one u on about confuzled one?:rolleyes::D:p

I put out on those dogs:D, if its the saluki x, then it is not really a lurcher its a sight hound type.

long dog x by a working dog (im sure0, obs some go well over board with ridiculous crossings, but a collie is a good example crossed with a deerhound say or a collie grehound.

You would not believe the amount of people who have mde comment re Jake :D he came in with bas SA problems, he is now crate trained and we want him to go with a crate until heis old enough and confident enough to beleft without one, and pref with another dog, infact ha onemay be a must, but a few have ive then answer of "but Im home all day and will never leave him":confused: *erm yep that will help the SA*, or "I don't want a crate he an have the run of the house when im out " ok, that will help too* NOT.

You would be surprised how may folk argue you into the ground and take no advice, even though you explain the types of issues they will create if the change the routine thedog is now settld with, some so admment we, have let the dog go, and low and behold they return it pretty quickly describing all that was reiterated to them would happen if the took no notice :rolleyes:

Im affraid it' all the "but my old dog did not need this or that" thought that they canot get away from.
So he remains till we find someone who will LISTEN! how much to ship him to u me dear ;)
 
6mo is a bit too young as we have a dog who is a puppy basher, hates them..and boxers..and brachycephalic dogs. other than that, he's pretty good!
Ideally would be house trained too, or getting there enough!
Off to cheshire dogs home tomorrow and will see whats there,

nope, brachycephalic is squashed face, so pug, boxer etc.
a rottie we might get past the dog but its too big
, I know, I sound fussy but I am! It's a big commitment and has to be the right one
