Fingers crossed for our old girl please.

Sending loads of <<<<<<<<<vibes>>>>>>>>>>.
We have a 30 yr old and are always conscious that she is living on 'borrowed time'. She has been retired for 5 yrs, since she had colic. The vet came out 3 days running as every time the medication wore off she started with it again. The senior vet said on his last visit that if she went down again, he didn't know what to do next.
He didn't need to come out again. She started to recover and although it was a long slow recovery over that summer, she is better than ever atm.
I do hope you have a similar outcome.

I have a 30 year old mare who came down with colic about a month ago. A shot of Buscopan relaxed her but it was 36 hours before a poo appeared. Since then she hasn't looked back. Hope yours recovers too.

Ive just found this thread, can i say how sorry i am to hear this sad, sad news.
It is one of the scariest and heart rending things to deal with , especially in a horse you love dearly.
My thoughts are with you ((((((hugs))))))

I have just seen this. I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my old lad in exactly the same circumstances. He was 29. It just breaks your heart, doesn't it? I know exactly what you are feeling right now, as do many of us on here, so you are not alone. I felt as if my heart had been ripped out when I lost him, and still miss him to this day. I really am truly sorry, and send lots of (((hugs))) . Take care x
