Bonkers black pony is just a little bit ever so excited. He has been on his bestest bestest behaviour on the yard this week, first with a suspected tendon injury and then during that time getting terrible cellulitis via a hive that turned to a scab on his elbow. Really nasty with a sore, raw, swollen elbow and armpit and swelling down his leg through which serum is forcing its way through the skin. Poor chap, be has been so good the whole week.
Yesterday vet said I had to get him walking to clear fluid build up. Field is a bog so this means taking him across the road (lit up like a Christmas tree) to my friends arena.
This is all apparently super exciting. First thing he did was drop next to me into the longest scratchyest roll in the world, followed by about 10 second pause and then rearing, bucking, leaping and squeaking for the next 3 circuits of the arena before he managed to get hold of himself and walk nicely. Poor chap, he isn't used to keeping all 4 feet on the floor for so long.
Question is, will he get better, or worse?! If it is a tendon I could have months of this!
