after a very late night at pony club area quiz (6th

should have done better, but team tactics were to do well, but not well enough to go to champs
tongue.gif
) meaning that I didnt get to ride my horse as went straight from uni - so Thats a total of 7 days non-riding before the test

Hows that for practice

Also meant that I didnt get a chance to clean my brown tack (which used to be black

) so apologies to the organisers

Anyways, the dressage
tongue.gif

Warmed up well, we have finally cracked walk to canter on the left rein, which was fantastic - he finds it soo easy now
smile.gif

Lots of puddles which were fun to canter through, as it scared all the poncy ponies
tongue.gif
Loved his expression though as we cantered through them

First test, BE 112, lets just say that there is a lot of improvment to be done. A lot.
blush.gif

Basics were good but not in dressage mode yet, not very supple through turns and general resistance (see piccy below!) but our rein back was the best its ever been - and we got a square halt at the end of test! Although he tried to buck the whole way through medium canter circle - managed to control it though
tongue.gif

But we got a very deserved 60.5% and lots to work on, so I'm happy
smile.gif

The next test was the BE 116 - my first Intermediate test! forgot that it was done in sitting trot though, and the last time I did a test in sitting was easter 09

But same as last test, need to work on increasing suppleness and decreasing resistance!
Shoulder in actually was quite nice, got 6's for it, and considering no practice was pleased
smile.gif
Extended walk was interesting as his normal free walk has about 4 hooves over-track, so bit
confused.gif
as how to make the walk bigger!
I was quite proud of myself, managed to do whole test in sitting trot and not be completely puffed at the end of it! But boy, my stomach will be sore tomorrow
blush.gif

Got 56% in it, not great but for first int. I'm pleased, we didnt finish last so not totally out of our depth!

Thanks for reading

some piccys - the halt before rein back (note v.bad resistance)

Well done - I agree that you've done well after not been out and about sinc elast year! I hope I do as well on my first outing this year
smile.gif

Didn't see your test as preoccupied with pony, but M looked very nice in the warm up. Very civilized, and balanced. Not at all as if he hadn't been schooled all week

The results aren't online yet - maybe tomorrow morning???

going on sat again or are you heading up to tyrella?

I was on the little bay pony with a big white blaze. Fairly out of place admittedly among all the huge eventers, so you def must have saw me.

I was really pleased with her in the intro test, she even got her right canter lead which is a really big thing for her, and wasn't phased by the indoor at all.

No I will be back again for more dressage on Sat, OH will go to Tyrella again or hunt depending on the weather this week.

You could easily do dressage and Tyrella, OH said the 85cm jump cross didn't finish until about 3pm (silly woman on the gate stuck his sticker on the end by mistake, and he had to wait until the end even though he was there at 11 - not impressed). There is a new 'water' fence this year, I keep checking the photographers website to see if the pics are up yet.

blush.gif

wow! think this sat we are going to do dressage in morning and then head to moyallon, as there is a training showjumping going on, so we think if we head there around 1pm we will get to do 1m and the 1.10
