So proud of my boy. Yesterday, after over 13 years of owning him, I finally managed to get him to his first competition. I never thought I'd get the chance. He's 21 this year!!

Despite being a bit green in the tests (and thinking that the white boards were for jumping!) he didn't put a hoof wrong all day. He was so calm about the whole thing and even came home with a frilly! He score 66.96% and 4th place!

Won't compete him hard but may take him out later in the Spring once he's stronger and carrying a bit more condition!

Pointless post really but just wanted to share as so proud of my boy!

oh bless him, love that he's managed to get out for his first comp at 21!

has there been a reason you've not gone before, or has it just not happened until now?

I wasn't interested in competing when I first got him and also didn't have transport for years. When I eventually got transport 3 years ago I also bought a younger horse to compete so he was just used for hacking and fun-rides. The couple of times that I did plan to compete him something would go wrong and he'd go lame etc. He's been in and out of work these last few years bless him!
