January is nearly over, at last. It's only lasted about 64 weeks or so this year I think?

Anyway, what has everyone got planned?

Took Darcy out in the new truck last night. As it was dark and raining and therefore visibility not great on the lanes, OH agreed to drive us ;) so I STILL haven't had to drive it but will be going out without a horse on the weekend. I was a bit concerned because when he first went on the little box he got a bit stressy but he traveled really well and contained himself in a very noisy indoor school to potter about doing a bit of easy work.

Vet day today for some of the gang to have vaccinations, and Kira to get some regumate which is desperately needed as she's been getting more and more ridiculous to the point where I simply am not going to ride her until it's started to take effect! Lesson on Tuesday for Darcy. That's about it.

Little Miss Grumpypants pic to kick the thread off

I had such an amazing time last weekend with our first 80cm arena XC (albeit the dressage judge obviously HATED my fluffy pony), that I'm having a chill out weekend with 'just' a dressage lesson on Sunday. I'm still buzzing from the excitement, and went to a brilliant goalsetting evening last night organised by my lovely instructor.

F is taking Muffin the new pony to his first competition (local kids SJ) on Friday evening, and then Daisy to a WH competition on Sunday. He is very excited, as he hasn't been to a competition since before Xmas even though we have done plenty of lessons and rallies.

Lorry is still away being refurbished, so only the ponies can go out as Sophie doesn't fit in the trailer.

Awww look at her face MP! Bless her :)

Good luck Chippers!

Sounds like the perfect weekend Fiona :)

Not much from me as we are away with the family Saturday afternoon/ evening. Hoping to have another hack with friend on Sunday and I think I'm going to clip him Saturday morning with my new clippers

Quiet Saturday, going to take the dogs to explore what may or may not be a free to access local track for a bit of fast work with a view to boxing up there in the next couple of weeks. And hopefully a hack in the afternoon.
Lesson over some workers fences on Sunday - hopefully not gonna be 3 for 3 but I am testing the bounce of surfaces everywhere I go at the moment so it is a possibility :p Goal is nice and forward over an easy open grid - I feel we need to work on a better depart, if I can get that a bit more fluent I might be better at staying in the plate

Dyllymoo, I used those on Charlie - I'd suggest getting yourself a pair of course blades if you can - they clip super close! In fact get two they get hot quickly, and watch your tension - if it's a fraction out they get a bit chewy. However, that aside they did a super clip for the most part and are quite quiet, not awfully heavy and don't vibrate terribly either. Battery with a full charge lasts quite well. I was pleasantly suprised

Amber is going off on schooling livery today. Girls are working at Somerford, poo-picking for one of the instructors on Saturday so I might cheer myself up with a bit of retail therapy at Hope Valley Saddlery and Hoofers Cafe when I drop them off. Dolly and Katie are having a dressage lessson on Sunday. So, not a lot!

Are you still able to drive AE?? That's something anyway, I thought you would be stuck at home.

Love the new clippers dolly...

Good luck chippers, with the box and with the competition.

Enjoy your lesson roxylola, and I hope you don't test the school surface x

Ah I thought the blades that came with them would be ok. Now I'm worried!

I've got a last minute lesson on a simulator. It looks as if they have a diagnostic screen which shows if you move your weight around, which is absolutely what I need. Had a very depressing lesson with my regular dressage coach on Tuesday in which she said I'd lost my core and started sitting in a C shape. We have a dressage competition next Saturday so I need to get out of this habit pretty quickly!

Rose and I are having an "eyes on the ground" lesson either Friday or Saturday and we are going to the TSR showing clinic on Sunday which should be interesting. Other job I need to do is order some new haynets as the motley collection I have are just hard work to fill now and also a chifney as Rose stood up again last afternoon and I have just had enough of it. Also some cheap rubber over reach boots as Rose has trashed weveral pairs!
Good luck to everyone who is competing!

The small hunter stood next to me at pony measuring last Sunday was being led in a chifney oldie, its owner said he was just pig ignorant without it.....

We did have to queue for an hour and a half though, so I'd say she made the right decision to use it...

I somehow have managed to get roped into re-decorating my husbands office (while he buggers off to play Rugby – not sure how that happened), and then a lesson with my fabby instructor on Sunday so a fairly quiet one for me. We have routine physio on Tuesday next week and then into prep for some evening dressage the following week, so working on tweaking some of the little test riding niggles into the next week or so.

Good luck to everyone out this weekend, I hope the weather is kind to us all!

Not much planned apart from just getting on the horse lol. My friend should be coming over with the side saddle to try on Breagha to see if it is something we both like.

Will possibly try long reining my husbands horse now he is properly cleared to start work after being out of action with a foot imbalance (I actually didnt realise how common this was).

Thanks, it is just so annoying, most of the time she is really polite but just occasionally when I go to get her in she just loses the plot. I know it's all to do with Fatty but it's no fun having a pair of hooves waving at me. I'm hoping the chifney will be enough for her to remember her manners even when she is upset so I never have to use it. Used a bridle today and frankly not needed at all as she came in like a lamb. She is very fit ATM and much sharper to ride, but that's OK, this silliness is relatively new but def needs nipping in the bud!

I'm booked for a sj session tomorrow morning, if it goes well then poss a last min.com booking for arena eventing training on Sat, otherwise pootling out hacking.
Need to have a tidy up and scrub out a stable as likely having a temp livery coming in for a few weeks soon.
Good luck to those competing x

Due to be taking new boy to his first BD comp on Saturday. Hoping wind drops so I can tow...
First time at that venue for him, and first time he’s ever been in a long arena - so fingers crossed all goes well.

Good luck with all the plans.

I think Kira needs to sort out her PR agent, she looks as cute as ever!
