After his accident last week when my boy was allegedly hit by a car,( if you read my post about it you will know the details)I rode him out, for the first time, with a Dr. Cook bridle on so nothing would touch his mouth where the clips were. In addition he has been pinging around the field with his two friends so was feeling very well! His scraped hocks healed over in one day and the abrasions on his legs have also healed well.
I went out with a friend and we went on the route where he was injured, all was well , he was feeling very good about himself, going sideways a bit, thats normal for him when he is in that mood.
We went for a very short hack . On returning to the place where he crossed the road and was hurt he napped and was nearly on two legs but I managed to get him to keep all four on the ground and we got across the road safely to the other side ! He was then totally relaxed.
I was scared at the time but managed to get him under control, I know that his reaction was entirely normal , given what had happened, but I am such a wuss! am now scared that he will be like this whenever he returns home.
I just need reassurance that it won't always be like this, he is normally such a good boy and has never gone up on two legs ever before.
Thanks for reading!
