Fly collar for GSD

Help! Years ago we used to be able to buy a collar (like a cats flea collar type of thing) which we put on our dogs to stop flies attacking their ears. I've been into so many pets shops to ask about this recently but nobody has a clue what I'm on about. Can anyone help? My GSD (and it's only him - my other dogs are effected), is being plagued by flies bitting the outside of his ears (the pointed bits) and making him bleed. He keeps shaking them off and I've been applying some anti-septic jel, but his ears are getting in a bit of state. I've asked the pet shops if they have any other suggestions, but so far - nothing. It used to be a yellow rectangle which you threaded through the top of the horses head collars which could also be used on the dog collars. If anyone knows where I can get one from, please let me know urgently. Thanks.

Never heard of one either

Feed small amounts of garlic and coat the ear in aloe-vera gel, thick vaseline etc.

The GSD at the place I stayed in Spain was so bad we had to silver-tape cotton wool to her ear

I would go with what CC says and also look in to avon skin so soft with a touch of garlic added.
