My poor skewbald mare is really suffering with the flies at the moment. She has come in the last few days with huge bites on her despite wearing fly spray and a fly rug.
She has a post Liverpool cream treatment sarcoid healing on her belly at the moment which I'm a bit unsure how to protect from the flies. I'm currently using an antiseptic fly repellent gel around but not actually on the wound. Does anyone have an better recommendations?
She also has a pink belly and pink armpits which just seem to be savaged by the flies at this time of year, especially on the belly you can see little red bits where the flies have had a little munch.
She is currently in at day and out at night as I thought this was best to avoid the flies, she also where's a fly rug with a neck but I'm thinking about upping the anti and getting something that covers a little more :-/
Any advice welcome
