My old pony would eat anything, my mate left her lunch outside the stable, came back Bobbys let himself out, eaten a tuna sandwidge and whole pack of chocolate fingers

And then another time mate left her lunch in shut box in his stable he opened it

Brilliant post!

My horsey Bess pretty much will eat anything she can get her hands on with the exception of banana's which she does not like. She has worked out how to remove the lid from her lick, food bucket and box so you have to watch out or she just helps herself!

Have to say that's why I love her so much cos she loves her food just like me.

Digestive biscuits, I can't describe it, he just goes loopy, and he can smell them as i'm walking down the yard, that gets his senses going crazy! :P
 
my old mare loved Codlavine (sp) apple crunchies. And when she learnt what a soft touch my oh or anyone for that matter was for her wobbley top lip she knew she would get one or several.

Apples and parsnips were her other favs. Hob Nobs and digestives were popular as well.

My horse likes most things but he loves christmas when the liquers come out he will eat 1 and then suck his tongue for about 10 mins (very loudly) and hot chocolate is another of his favourites

one of mine adores Blackberries, the other loves carrots and any drink that is in a mug etc or cans of fizzy pop!

i think you'll find these are on the 'do not feed to horses' list.
raw potatoes are not good at all. member of the Deadly Nightshade family iirc. cook first, or feed at your peril, i think...!
 
My pony loves tea and ginger nut biscuits. They are his treat when the farrier comes, as he also loves tea and ginger nut biscuits. They eye each other up suspiciously in case one has got more than the other. I had better add that the pony has his tea in an ice-cream container...so I don't get mugs mixed up...
 
apparently for animals, drinking tea is supposed to be good for the coat.. could be an old wives tale though! also if you have a darker coloured horse applying tea to the mane and tail is great for sweet itch! lol x
 
mine also loves those banana and papaya, dragon fruit treat thingys! he likes most fruit like nectarines, plums etc but hates anything that has a squishy texture he proper turns his nose up to really soft pears and such like so i havent tried bananas.
He goes barmy for digestive biscuits and loves liqourice (sp)
He has also been partial to a cheese sandwich every now and again, mostly by accident.
And my little coloured will eat ANYTHING. He is the horse version of my labrador

Our Section A loves ice cream. Anyone who goes near him with a cone is asking for trouble.

He also loves popcorn. The boys left the car door open once and a bag of popcorn in the back seat. When we turned round there was just this white bum sticking out the door. He was kneeling on the seat hoovering up the popcorn.
 
Farra - have yet to find anything that piggy clydesdale won't eat. However, favs are apples, butterscotch, blackberries, flapjakes, mints - extra strong please, and anything in my niece's lunch box.

Chancer - is not quite such a mouth on legs. Definately favs are bread, butterscotch sweets, apples, soft mints, humbugs and flapjakes. He too likes cheese and pickle sarnies.

Hates - bananas - never seen him make such a face. He also likes a swig of diet coke with lime or pepsi max but does not like cherry coke.
 
Hmm. Polos, jelly babies, gummi worms, raspberries, pear (I think), shortbread, bread rolls, prawn crackers, crisps, coke, fruit punch, any juice including partially-fermented orange juice are all among the things that have disappeared into his fuzzy muzzle over the last year. He didn't seem too sure about bananas, though. Too squishy, maybe? He may have gotten hold of a bit of cheeseburger, too.
