For a laugh - the earliest photo of you on a horse!

Not the earliest but still quite cute! Have pictures of me sat infront of my mum on here horse but unfortunately not on my laptop

Theses photos are brilliant. Jemma24's is priceless, and Siennamums - well you mum is your mum I guess!

This is the earliest photo I have on my PC. The last fence at Charterhouse Clear Round XC, all I wanted for the whole year was my picture taken over that fence, I had high goals back then. So I smiled!

For those of you that know my husband this is him (on the bay) in South Africa. His mum must have been out as they are stood on the lawn. The grey horse was hit by a train, and survived, because everyone has a railway line running through their fields

Not my earliest pic on a horse, but my earliest competition pic! I was the Sugar Lump Fairy and my friend was the Polo Pixie (she's now a vet!!). I'm ashamed to say this was taken 30 years ago!! Can still name every horse in the picture!!!

Fab pictures everyone, particularly like the heels higher than hands job.

These are the earliest I have of Rosie

and first (or one of the first) hunting with her Dad

Note copious amount of straw attached to both child and pony and the fact that the hat on both occasions is almost as big as she is :)

RekRidingScottie.jpg

I think I was about 3 here? (14yrs ago ish) This was Scottie :D My parents hired him from a stables for a 1hr hack (someone handed over pony and off we went!) Although he was obviously only used to half hour rides, got to a certain point and stopped! A lot of effort later and I believe we did actually complete the ride, although it's a bit hazy in my memory ;) I do remember it being rather rainy!

RekRidingOmegan.jpg

and in Florida, riding Omegan, about 1998? When my mum rang up the place said that they'd have a 'pony' ready for me as I wanted to ride my own pony, not with my mum! We didn't expect something quite so HUGE as she seemed then! :o They did bring me my own pair of mini stirrups to hook over the saddle horn though, and I think I sat my first rear that day when the horse decided to have a strop returning to the yard!

This is me aged about 8 on a horse called Golly at a riding school in Lyme Regis - I was on my summer holidays and mum and dad always got me a few lessons there.
Golly was a true gentle giant, and stood a whopping 18hh - hence the name - whenever anyone saw him for the first time they said...... 'Oh Golly!'. I doubt it would be so polite nowadays! :o)

And an ACTUAL dead sheep saddle pad! :D

Great photo.

This is a picture of the first time I sat on a horse! He was my mum's old horse Fella and he was only 14.2! He looks enormous in this photo, I always thought he was huge. Not sure how old I am, about 6 months I think.
File0171-1.jpg

This was my first riding lesson on my 6th birthday, I had to talk my mum down because originally she said I had to wait until I was 7! Loving the wellies and jumper!

Me on my first pony at my first pony club camp, aged 7! Not sure how many times I fell off but it was a lot.

23 years ago we got Rosie. I am in my dad's arms
rosie1.jpg

A few years later and I have no idea who the picnicers are but Rosie always liked her food.
rosie2.jpg

And this was taken about 8 years ago. Do not try this at home.... but as long as Rosie had food she couldn't care less about anything else.

This is my second pony April. I was pretending I had a show pony and not a native!

Great post - some amazing pics! I can't find my really really early ones, but these are pretty old:

Safety first! A friends pony - well at least I was wearing a hat..

Think this was on our second XC, as you can see we were really trying to make the time:p. This was my first pony called Duster. He was the best, wish I still had him :D

We got better though - I've always loved this photo.

I am rubbish with a computer so you will have to slowly and painfully look at these following photos ,one at a time:D Meet starlight ,15.3 hh of pure anglo arab attitude. Here not very amused to have done and won pony club condition and turnout.I GOT MADE TO DO IT !!!!! MSDH ponyclub.

img086.jpg
But from condition and turnout ,starlight and I went on to much more fun things a couple of years later.Long time ago,but I am still incredibly proud of how fit we got him .

Photos of me aged around 18 months are on a Welsh pony called Megan....they're in black & white!! Taken in Anglesey..... Have never scanned them so can't post!

Don't have any of me but this was OH's youngest daughter's first go on a horse, she's just turned 3 and Paddy is a 17hh ex racer, I'd only had him a year and he hadn't done much and he was 7 but soft as grease

I don't think we have a photo of my first pony Black Beauty, but I was 6 in these photos: Brandy was a 12.2hh Exmoor X.

All our photo's are in some folders filed away on the computer, but the next oldest one, is when I was 10. He was the most vile pony when he first came, and he couldn't so much as canter, but jumped from a trot.... It took years, but he turned out to be brilliant. :)
