...what make would he/she be?

Mine, a pb Arab - built for comfort and speed...a little exotic but not too foreign but very smart nonetheless...

Probably a Mercedes something like a C class Sedan - compact and smart enough to turn heads but discrete enough to blend in too.

My Welsh Cob mare on the other hand

More like a long bed Dodge Ram pickup. Not hugely fuel efficient, and not a whole lot of finesse but loads of muscle power.

Anyone wanna play?

NF - a land rover, keeps on going and going, touch wood, low maintenance!
Appys- one would be something like a Vauxhall frontera as he is old did very well in past but feeling his age now! Other something like a Vauxhall Astra as he's abit more quality, but equally needs abit more care! Quite a fund ride!:D

Little cob - Ford Transit van. Always pushing to be at the front, tail gates, revs his engine and shoots off like a rocket but can't sustain the speed and will always end up at the back huffing and puffing!! He's a bit run down and scruffy looking but reliable and ALWAYS starts first time and will last forever!! Rough and ready...just how I like 'em!!;)

Big Cob - Volvo estate. Comfortable, reliable, bit boring and safe but always there, always starts and like a old cardigan..comfortable and dull. Expensive to repair if breaksdown but if fully serviced will usually be fine. Takes alot of fuel to keep going and prefers to cruise along in the slow lane..just under the speed limit. The sort you can't put a price on as a safe plod but sometimes you just do wish it had the engine of a sports car under that big solid body. That said after a days driving on the Ford Transit...the Volvo estate is a welcome relief from the jolting and speed!!:D

My girl... A bulldozer! big, strong, heavy and pushes stuff til it breaks. Job done!

Although a non horsey friend once described her as a Sherman tank with a ferrari engine! :)

Honey - Something that looks a bit shabby but polishes up well! Dependable but creaky ..
Mysti - God! Somthing very fast, sharp and well built. Boy racer car no doubt suped up engine and flashy paint work :D

1st RID - A Range Rover, solid and built like the proverbial
2nd RID - A Land Rover discovery, smaller and not as expensive to run as above
3rd IDSH - Ford Focus, good allrounder that starts up everytime, cheap to run and reliable
4th IDSH - Alfa Romeo, sporty, quick off the mark with a bit of a bite!!!

Section A - LR Freelander, looks pretty but underneath tough and versatile.
Section B - see above
British Riding Pony - Mazda MX5, small pretty and flashy but can't carry much.
Haflinger - LR Discovery, good looking in a rugged way, strong and versatile
Eriskay - LR Defender, tough, rugged, slow but goes anywhere and does anything.
Coloured Cob - Landcruiser, tough and strong but not as flashy as the Haffie
Ex racehorse- Ferrari, fast, nervous and beautiful.

My instructor says my lad is a Range Rover Sport and share pony is a Morris Minor. We're trying to get him to be more of a Ford Focus LOL

My two British Warmblood ladies would both be Porsche Cayennes; rangey with big engines, head turning, great across country but scrub up well enough for a posh do; pricey!

My Welsh D girl would be a quad bike; rugged yet smart, great to drive around towing something, but a bit skittish when you're sitting on her on the road!

My colt would be something really delicate and lovely - an Alfa Spyder or a classic mercedes sports.

These are all really good funny responses - but THIS one just about had me spitting coffee on my computer! :D

mine would have to be a ford fiesta body, cute, fun and pint sized, but with a ferrari engine under the bonnet. raring to go, at the front of the race, always up for it, rarely tires out, the last to slow down!

Most of mine would be like this:

I agree. I love cobgirlie's description of her little cob in particular. Comedic brilliance!

:o Thank you but to be honest it's just him...he is the funniest horse I've ever met!! Considering he arrived to me as a terrified 2 year old, skin and bone who couldn't be caught for 3 months once put in the field and would bolt if someone so much as raised their hands!! He's turned into the class clown who never ever ceases to make me laugh out loud!! He's a tiny bit too small for me which is why I got Big Cob recently but I would never ever part with Little one cos he's such a character I actually choose to ride him over Big Cob because we have such fun.

I mean come on guys don't we find the most odd looking comediens attractive sometimes just because they make us laugh?;)

An Alfa Romeo (Brera?) I reckon... TB - looks good, goes fast, but reliability can be an issue! :p:D

i completly agree with this one!! my tb mare would be a perfect Alfa Romeo
Brera

my ISH - something like a discovery - quite flashy if he needs to be but can blend in with others!! And smart!

little roan pony - VW Scirocco - something a bit different but very pretty!

tough little chestnut welsh/new forset - definatly something like a polo - very reliable, nothing too flashy, tough and durable, goes through anything!

And who's got a vehicle that resembles one of their horses? (erm, I sure as heck don't...though my PB Arab isn't toooo far off hubby's Audi S4).

My Gelderlander is most definitely one of those huge American station wagons (the ones with wood panels down the sides). He's middle aged, reliable and very comfortable. He does cost a bit to service and is quite a gas guzzler but he's given me years of happy driving and there will be plenty more to come. Love him to pieces! :)

Mine would be a white transit van - big and solid with a few scratches and dents, dodgy tyres and 'wash me' written in the dirt on her bum.

It's funny, we had loads of fun doing this last summer while out on hacks - we categorised all 'the guys':

Honey (my friend's big, heavy cob, RIP) - big old Volvo estate; reliable, comfy, broad in the beam and will carry anything, has power under the bonnet when you need it!

Pagan (my TBX) - Alpha Sports; very nippy, sharp around the corners but a bit temperamental with potential to be dangerous!

Dude (friend's husband's American cutting horse) - one of those big American trucks; really heavy and strong, capable of carrying huge weights and barging through any situation! Lots of power under the bonnet and lots of chrome on the bodywork!

Kazim (friend's Arab) - Mercedes C Class; classy and knows it, leather seats and all the extras, loves a 'burn up' along the motorway

etc etc ...

It was when I was thinking about what I should buy and we decided I needed a Jaguar sports estate diesel (like the car I have) - smart and classy, economical to run, capable of carrying a reasonable load, reliable and steady but responsive and with power under the bonnet when you need it. I don't know if Hugo fits that description (almost, maybe! :D) OH says he thinks he's more of a SUV!

My dutch warmblood mare would be a Jaguar XK8, high maintenance but well built, beautiful and classy.

My TB x con would have to be a mercedes sports, comfortable, fast and built to last :-)

Mine would be a Ferrari - pretty to look at and can go fast, but not necessarily in the direction you were hoping for.

He requires constant refuelling but despite this he doesn't always work. He also develops random issues which resist fixing despite many attempts at diagnosis, and then suddenly fix themselves.

He also dislikes being taken out in the rain and enjoys being polished.

Me!!!!! I have a SWB shogun. Strong good-looking, reliable, with a decent engine so its fun to drive .
And I have a WB x cob who is exactly the same....both girls and both grey! Wish I knew how to post pictures to prove it!
