Well the temperatures have risen to -7 now and seems that they will be around -5 to -10 for the next week, so it's mild enough for my dogs to be spayed now. So today, off I popped with my big dogs to get them weighed at the vets and booked in for their spays. Lily, the little Springer who had the puppies back in December was booked in too but the vet already had her weight.
So I take my giant puppy Clover and have her weighed and she is being done this week. Lily is booked in for next week and Snowdrop (Lily's puppy we kept) will be going in 4 months to be done.
But hark I hear you say! What about Daisy the delightful black shepherd dog? Weeeellllllll, I have delayed her spaying as I think she is looking slightly round......the same friggin' dog was spotted in my area recently and although I haven't seen him here, I didn't blooming well see him the last time either! I think the little bugger has HAD one of my other girls!
If Daisy comes back into season soon then she will be whipped down to the vet - vet has said she will squeeze her in at short notice. The vet is miffed with this dog. I feel like catching him, taking him on a short overnight trip and then sending him home ball-less!
I hope Daisy isn't preggers but if she is then it isn't the end of the world; I'll keep one of course and I know fine well there are loads of people who adore Daisy also so shouldn't be difficult at all to find homes for the puppies with my friends, especially as some of them missed out on Lily pups.
My vet thinks that there must be some bizarre psychic thing going on with this dog - every time I go in to book my bitches to be spayed, he comes and has his wicked way with them!
