A whippet has made the final line-up at this year's Westminster Show (the US equivalent of Crufts).

Though I like Scottish terriers, I'd like to see the whippet or the Frenchie win

I did LOL as well because it is owned and bred by someone with the same name as me, although I suspect that Carey is male not female like me

I must admit I dont like the greyhound which was group 2 though

There is something about show greyhounds (in UK as well as USA) which doesnt quite work for me

Interesting. I've never met a show greyhound, though there are plenty of ex-track greyhounds in the city.

Katie, I shall be watching tonight, though I suspect Prince and Stella will attempt to sabotage my view as well.

sent me the link to the GSD class - all strung up and HUGE!!! Not the worst American showline sheps I have ever seen though....

Most American versions of dog breeds are bigger than their UK counterparts, particularly whippets, Shepherds, Labs and Goldens. Some of the Goldens over here are the size of Bernese Mountain Dogs!

I think size is creeping up everywhere. The Germans are hammering size at the moment, I think even the puppies are being measured in the ring

I did meet a few huge labs last year, too, now you mentioned it, I don't think the owner appreciated me calling him "Horse"

Fab whippy. Have just been watching the Italians - they are gorgeous. Doubt my 2 would ever be that well behaved !

I'm not so good with my "showing" critique so couldn't tell you the difference in standards with crufts (we are going to Crufts toy dog day to see the Iggies).
