For those that use VIP Pads

Can I ask what numnahs you use with them? And if you find the VIP works better between horse and numnah or between saddle and numnah?

I use Le Mieux saddle pads and put the VIP pad on top of the saddle pad

Used with ecogold numnah.
Used between numnah and saddle, I don’t like the idea of gel straight on their backs.

bear in mind, one horse likes it but my other hated it and made it clear it wasn’t needed!

Usually Le Mieux or WoofWear saddlepad.
Have tried it on back under saddlepad and between saddlepad and saddle.
I feel more effect if straight onto back, but a couple of times it has slipped - I think I didn’t tighten girth.

I use it with nuumed pads. Placed between the pad and the saddle.

I used to put it (I sold it as it didn't make a jot of difference and it affected saddle fit) between saddle and saddle cloth. I use le mieux saddlecloths BUT it doesn't work with the loire ones with the stuffed bit at the front. With those you would have to put it underneath the saddle cloth.

Thank you everyone, I’ve had one on trial from my saddle fitter and it seems my mare likes it seems to help with her consistency to work over her back and therefore has helped with getting a bit more lift in the trot in particular. I have used nuumed numnahs for years but been disappointed with the wear and tear of my more recent ones and now with the VIP thought maybe I look at using something else, seems Lemieux is worth a look, want to have something else for the saddle fitter to check when they comes back for check up.

I use mine with the loire saddle pad. I put it between pad and saddle

I used to use between pad and saddle but it’s a faff to take out and put back if swooping to different saddle/ horse so now put straight on back, don’t think it makes a difference but do feel bit mean if it’s very cold !

Really?? I was fiddling around with it for ages and couldn't make it work. The vip pad was more forward cut than the sticky out padded thingies at the front. It's a dressage saddle and dressage saddle cloth so they are straight cut. So the vip had to go under the saddle cloth. Obv the non loire saddlecloths without the sticky out padded thingies are fine for the pad to go between saddle cloth and vip pad.
