i cant decide weather i need a horse with some warmblood in it, for it to be able to win classes out show jumping. any one had any real success on irish/tb horses?
i am struggling, because so many of the wb's have leg issues as that can be the reason they left holland/gemany etc in the first place

if i had 9k to spend i would buy a wb. Not sure what you mean about leg problems? A 4 year old imported directly from a breeder is unlikely to have any problems, but surely you'd get it vetted and x-rayed (which you absolutely need to do) which would rule out any issues.... Horses are imported because it is a business, people import to sell, make money not specifically because of leg problems.
So don't worry about the rumours you've heard. Most showjumpers ride round on continental horses quite frankly because they are better at the job (sure there are many irish horses just as good, although personally i've never had one).
Whatever horse you buy the best thing you can put your money into is training and as much of it as you can afford! X
