... clipping.

I can't clip a perfectly straight line for toffee anyway, I hate having itchy hairs in my eyes, nose and bra and if someone could come up with an equine version of Immac, I'd buy it by the tonne.

H is looking like a Furby desperately in need of Pantene, a Karcher, Vanish Oxi Action and ghds despite being clipped 5 weeks ago. (Any chance of sponsorship by mentioning such illustrious brands? :p )

*sighs* But there's nothing for it. Friday ... IS ... Clipping Day. Bu**er it :(

How about wearing this or will it scare the horses?! :p:D

I think it just might scare the Bejesus out of him.

*Hands H over to EKW and dollyanna, cos they've so kindly offered and according to the BBC forecast, tis going to p down in the morning ;)*

It's ok - we do have an undercover washroom. Have fun and thank you! xxx

*scoots out to put the kettle on*

And thank you, MLC ...

ETA (and on reflection): dollyanna - are you MAD?

I feel your pain Mrs B, one of my worst horsey jobs ever. The only reason I do it because my ridiculously hairy horse usually needs around 6 clips in the winter and I'm far too poor (and tight) to pay someone else to do it. And I really HATE IT if someone tries to talk to me when I'm in the middle of doing the deed, that drives me nuts.

Good luck anyway Mrs B.

Hmm. I have (on another thread) thought about marketing official HHO 'Brave Pants' (available in Black, Brown & Bling, with optional velcro attachments). Maybe I should also add the official HHO 'Clipping Suit' to the line ... design suggestions welcome ... :)

Thanks, Meems :) x

Ah yes, I have a boiler suit.. I have made the mistake of not wearing any trousers under it... then discovered it has great slits up the sides for pocket access... oh hello knickers!

It is a little on the tight side now being a few years old which tends to pin the boobs down sufficiently for clipping at least.

at least you had nick nacks on

less for the hair to stick to I suppose, bit nippy though!

the job would probably get done quicker

last time I clipped my mare I trimmed up a bit with the trimmers rather than clippers, they produced a much nicer length of cut so I ended up doing the whole hunter clip again with my trimmers, looked great but took forever-would not do that butt naked

did not realise there was another way-in fact butt naked may be the answer as no clothes for hair to get stuck in!

I guess you'd have to avoid frost-bite and cable burn but overall ... probably a wise choice ... (PPE too of course - hard hat, gloves and steel toed boots as standard :p)

the boots, yes i would need the boots, I am a little obsessive about my feet after breaking one in 8 places many years ago-horse related of course, I like me feet and do protect them, so butt naked but toes covered

Oh gawd! I have enough trouble digging out hairs that stick into my face! I don't fancy clipping starkers! Hair would probably get where hair really shouldn't ever go!

*BRAIN WAVE!*

We could make and market the 'HHO Clipping Calendar 2015' for charity! Now, who would feature ...

My eyes,,,, My eyyyyyyeeeeessss!
I wear the oldest t shirt i have, the oldest pair of pants - and waterproof trousers (the rustly horrible ones that I keep only for clipping in.)

Dispose of all but the trousers (Shake it off (not that Taylor swift again!))

tee hee!

Try hating clipping and being allergic to horses - it's a killer ;)

I have a paper suit, taped at the wrists, ski goggles, dust mask and a shower cap - I don't mean to sound crass but I am about as heavily protected as the ebola control suit, and those teeny tiny hairs still reappear to get me. :D
