To anyone who has their own yard!!
I bought my own field this year, one of my so called friends was having money trouble so I let her bring one of her ponies to my field for £10 a week. At first everything was fine. Over time it was more or more difficult to get money out of her. She has been doing various things, moving my stuff, opening my bales of hayledge, stealing my feed (silly cow keeps leaving the lids off). She also left the gate to the field open last week (luckily I have a strip of electric tape across the top). All of this she denies.
She owed me £60 livery money plus I charge her £2.50 per week for hay (considering her old yard charged £6 this is pretty good and I am actually loosing a bit of money). She kept putting her horse in one of my summer paddocks and as she was on her own she was getting stressed and churning the ground up. I said she has to put the horse in with mine, she said she was moving the horse as she can't get her out of the field with my 4 horses in there. In reality she just can't catch her horse as it hates her. She shouts at her, chases her and hits her.
I said fine just let me know when you are going. She was meant to bring livery money up last week and didn't turn up. I phoned to see where she was and she had the cheek to ask me to feed her horse! I asked if she had the money and she said yes (sounded like she was lying) I told her I would pick it up from her house and would phone her to get her address when I got home. Suprise suprise she didn't answer her phone.
My OH went to her work to get the money and she gave him £20, saying that she has paid and he must have forgotten. Next day he went she wasn't there. I text her and told her to move her horse on Saturday and bring up her money. I heard nothing all week. I text her on Friday and said this "Hi. Can you come and get her between 12 & 1 on Saturday. Otherwise you won't be able to get her out. thanks" (as we have changed the locks) And I got back.......Abuse.
So I have now been threatened with the RSPCA, the police and the taxman. Some friend!
She also said her horse has been stood knee deep in mud for weeks, it didn't bother her before, she wants her to live out. I also feed her horse for her during the week. She only feeds her chaff and sugarbeet so is obviously malnurished (she is an old lady as well). Last year she dropped loads of weight being stabled. She doesn't eat all of her food as she is sick of it. My 'friend' is blaming me for her horse loosing weight. I asked her how much she feeds her and she has shown me. She was quite happy to have her horse there until I wanted my money!
Moral of the story. NEVER let anyone on to your property who has a record as a lying, freeloading scumbag!
Choccy biccies if you got this far! Glad to have got it off my chest!
