French attitudes to saddles

In case anyone is interested seat savers are legal in French dressage competitions. I have to eat my words because the FEF replied within a few hours to my e-mail, so good on them!

Thanks for that Boobos, will invest I think!

We bought a Henri De Rivel -old style - jumping saddle for our 17.2 DWB & my daughter to s/j in. Sold him a few years ago and have used the saddle for ( at least) a almost full TB 16.1 sj ( Grade B) to s/j xc and dressage to elementary level( around 60+%) in. It fits my 13.2 NF for s/j & XC ( & dressage if I make my daughter do it!) we've used it to back the almost 15.hh cobby filly and used it on numerous other horses , all different sizes and shapes, it may need a pad on the stranger shapes, but it genuiely DOES fit everything we've ever put it on! Saddlers always say 'oh, that fits well doesn't it?' Not suggesting for a minute that one saddle always fits all but am sure that there have been many people led down the line of needing a saddle for every discipline ( I personally HATE seeing people with insecure lower legs in dressage saddles!) and that fitting a saddle is some sort of 'black art'
