I met a pony at a show once who was called Bucket the lady leading him introduced him as Bouquet (a la hyacinth!) but her daughter told us his name was really Bucket!

Lovely old TB at my yard is called Tonic his owner always assumed there was a Gin somewhere to go with him but it turns out its actually short for Catatonic ironic for a TB!

Used to be a horse called Dick at a yard near me made my 11yr old self wet my self laughing when the girl who loaned him would shout "im just going to ride Dick".

Ok my 21 yr old self would still laugh at that poor pony.

Well one of my favourites is still Humphrey which for some reason I find hilarious :p (I know, I know, I have a weird sense of humour)
However my favourite is definitely the name of my old Andalusian. He was a beautiful dapple grey with a long flowing mane and his name was...............MR TURNIP!!!!!!!!! :o I kid you not, Mr. Turnip.

I'm 37 and I nearly fell off my chair at that one! :D

I know a pony called Shrek . . .
My friend is challenged when it comes to naming ponies... she got two little ponies together and wanted to call them Pinky and The Brain, too many people protested at the pony being called The Brain, he's now called ... Squishy!!

I would just love to enter my horse in calsses like Handy pony and Pony Club pony under the name Complete And Utter Nutter :D

Also knew a pony called The Nut

Binbag - he was an eventer back inhte late 70s, retired to be a police horse got the posh name of Lochnivar as he was a mountain sized horse.

Dustbuster - ex point to pointer now sjs

Gone With the Wind - was fast and farted for britain

Exmoors have some great names . Porridge, Spud, Walnut

Squidgy was a WB who as a foal had loose poos

Tiny was a 17.2hh heavy Weight Hunter

And a friend named her pony when she was 3 poor thing was called Tiddles. She would blush aged 10 when it was announced over tanoys at shows.

My horse is called Frog.....

No one knows why - his registered (KWPN) name is Jaraak. I couldn't possibly change it, though, for some reason it suits the old bugger down to the ground.

Nice, quite posh, older lady at our yard has a gorgeous hunter called Roger. Nothing wrong with that, except her husband is also called Roger. Makes me smile if she says 'Roger was up for it this afternoon' or 'Roger went hell for leather today' etc ;)

I'm sure I've heard of someone riding "Daddys Overdraft" but that may just be urban legend!!

My dad wanted me to have ' Bobs overdraft' as my pony's show name when I was younger. I thought it was a stupid name and wouldn't even entertain the idea. But now, I wish I had. It's amusing.

There was a horse at the local show whos show name was 'Rollajoint' Although I think this was also the name of a racehorse? but not sure.

A horse I rode on holiday was called 'grasshopper' which was unusal and his mate was called 'toast' :D

I've heard ''I'd Rather B Grazing'' announced over speakers at a show.
I have looked after a mare called Hooty, and her filly foals called Tooty and Frooty (Fruity).
I have had a Cookoo on the yard as well as a Hot Totty (was Hot Toddy, but it got changed! lol)
I have seen a May Bee Naughty (by Mayhill) and have heard about a Edna Bucket.
Over the years there have been loads of great and weird ones, too many to mention.

This was my old pony Blue's show name, I wrote it on a different thread earlier this evening.... Always raised a chuckle at the shows.

Have known a pig, puddleglum, fuzzy peg too which is my personal favourite and a Reginald.

My horse is called Phoenix, but the name on his passport is Spud (previous owner changed it). This is very odd as I have a cat I called Spud long before I got Phoenix!
I quite like Spud, it's my pet name for him :-)

On one yard were 2 horses named Bucket and Hay-Net (how original).
Cilla Black (funnily enough, she was black).
Programme
Raffle
Demon (love this one, suits sooo many :D )
Dork
Tell
Macho
Streaker

To name but a few. . . .

A friend had one called National..bought with the race winnings:D My highland is called Morag, but when away being backed they called her Haggis, and still do.

My friends mare was nicknamed Squirt at 3yrs old after her first season. She is now called Squirt and wont respond to Millie at all :D

No shame in that.:) The Grandsire of the great Eclipse was called Squirt! Presumably for a different reason though:D

Eclipse also had horses called Old Creamcheeks and Snake on his page and he sired a horse named Pot-8-o's

I had a horse called Useless (he wasn't actually), and a friend purposely named his horse Business so that his Secretary could tell people that he was out on business, the same person also named his three labradors Fire, Help and Taxi just because it amused him to yell their names.

One of my favourite names is the Black Horse with a Blaze, that came about from someone picking him out of a herd as a youngster.

This hunk of a horse is called...
