OMG don't think that today could have been anymore full of ups & downs!
Arrived up to yard to greet my new boy who was already settled in his stable as if he had been there forever to be told my Mare wasn't put out this morning as was very stiff behind...... we checked on her & her 2 hinds the off in particular were like balloons!! NEVER since I've had her has she ever had any problems with lameness ...
Was in shock
So after some advice cold hosed them & then turned her out in a small paddock for a bit to see if swelling would come down.. Off hind still like a balloon and she was sore & really out of sorts - when I was cold hosing she kept nudging me as if she was telling me she was sore and reluctant to walk on as she was very sore - there a couple of thoughts on what it may be because of but not going to speculate until vet sees her tomorrow and I am a natural panicer so trying to keep calm.. She has been turned out in small paddock tonight as was advised not good for her to be standing still at all
- have shed many a tear, she means the world to me & this is the first time for this to happen to me.
So the New boy as I mentioned arrived today on top of all this happening so didn't get to do much with him - however he really is such a dude - as calm as anything, taking in the view and all the action from his stable - was showing him off to a friend & low & behold he caught sight of the haylage bale 10ft from his stable so he legged it - was so funny .... Hes just like my mare - thinks with his stomach.. He was a dream to be around & very affectionate when I went in to spend some time with him, kept nuzzling into me though I do need to teach him that he doesn't have to try to eat the outer plastic on the bag of carrots I will take them out for him lol... Looking forward to giving him a spin tomorrow...
Unfortunatly I have no pics from today due to drama with my mare but here is when I fell in love with him after trying him
In the meantime can I have some HHO vibes for my mare please - Just want her to be ok.
