Full Time Workers - Your Routine?

Assuming that "real life" doesn't happen, my ideal day looks like:

6am - get up
6.15am - leave house
7.30am - arrive at gym
8.30am - leave gym
8.55am - arrive at work
5.30pm - leave work
6.30pm - arrive at stables (office recently relocated so unfortunately it's more like 7pm now!)
7.45pm - leave stables
8.00pm - arrive home, OH nearly has dinner on the table
8.30 - watch TV with OH then do whatever
10.30pm - bed.

Horse is on full livery or the commute to work would be impossible. It's bad enough without fitting in a visit to the stables on the way. I'm lucky that OH cooks during the week and we do any chores, shopping etc on a weekend. I usually go to the yard for 7.30-8am on a weekend, home around 9.30-10am maybe (although this weekend it was lunch time!) and then the rest of the day is free.

Thankfully I have no "family" ie- kids!
I work full time shifts and have a 30 min commute each way to my fiancé's and luckily only a 15 min commute to work each way.

If I'm back shift -starting at 2.30pm, I get up about 9am go to the horse, spend a couple of hours there- mucking out 2 and ride one for an hour or two for half an hour. I then head home normally home for 12pm. Have some family chill time and lunch then go to work! (luckily I get my dad or yard folks to throw their nets/feed in the evening!)

If I'm dayshift- starting at 7am finishing at 3pm. I'll go straight to GG's from work muck out, try to fit in an hour's riding, I then speed home, shower, and commute to fiancé's and spend the evening there.

.... When I'm nightshift... half the time I have no idea what I'm doing or what day it is!

No real comment to make but this thread did make me think of the old Monty Python sketch - just to make you smile here is the appropriate part:

MP: You were lucky. We lived for three months in a brown paper bag in a septic tank. We used to have to get up at six o'clock in the morning, clean the bag, eat a crust of stale bread, go to work down mill for fourteen hours a day week in-week out. When we got home, out Dad would thrash us to sleep with his belt!

GC: Luxury. We used to have to get out of the lake at three o'clock in the morning, clean the lake, eat a handful of hot gravel, go to work at the mill every day for tuppence a month, come home, and Dad would beat us around the head and neck with a broken bottle, if we were LUCKY!

TG: Well we had it tough. We used to have to get up out of the shoebox at twelve o'clock at night, and LICK the road clean with our tongues. We had half a handful of freezing cold gravel, worked twenty-four hours a day at the mill for fourpence every six years, and when we got home, our Dad would slice us in two with a bread knife.

EI: Right. I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, (pause for laughter), eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad would kill us, and dance about on our graves singing "Hallelujah."

MP: But you try and tell the young people today that... and they won't believe ya'.

^^ that made me giggle. We do have a lot of first world problems 😂

Well, for me, it goes a bit like this....

6am up, fling on clothes, launch the dogs unwillingly into the garden, whilst the coffee machine splutters my lifeblood into a travel mug.

Once outside, the dogs won't come back in (unless it's raining when they morph into hound shape cats and fall over each other to get through the door), so I hop about pulling coat and boots on and doing a stage whisper to get them back in.

6.15, search for the car keys.
6.23, find the car keys. In the toddlers toy box. Of course.

6.24, drum my fingers on the steering wheel whilst the garage door opens.

6.40 arrive at the yard
Feed, muck out, make ready for the evening, ride and turnout.
7.45am, back in the car, making pathetic attempt to scrape mud off knowing I have to get in the car clean in 45 mins time.

8am, through the front door. Coffee machine makes second dose, dogs get breakfast, which they pretend to be asleep for until the bowls clang down and then it's a gold rush to the utility.

8.15, upstairs, greeted by bed head toddler half divested of pyjamas and wanting a kiss. Give husband a shove and a mug of coffee, stick the child on our bed with him and a story.

Get in the shower, forget to check temperature, scald myself, turn it down, get a blast of cold draught as toddler opens shower cubicle to join mummy. Do you know how hard it is to wash you hair with a toddler running a toy car up your leg? I do.

8.45, try to leave for work

8.46 accosted for one more kiss
8.48, accosted to kiss teddy
8.49, close the front door on beleaguered husband and now wailing 2 year old.

Work. Usually drive about 250 miles as part of job.

5pm, crash through the front door, stiff from the car. Get shrieked at with joy by hounds and child alike. Husband less excited!

Stuff the child into wellies and coat, coax her into leaving various pieces of coloured plastic at home and head to yard, dogs in tow again.

Husband goes to work, toddler and I do the yard and walk the dogs (second walk, he walks them mid morning too).

6.30pm home, dinner and bath/story/dancing round the kitchen/blowing bubbles/ showing me xyz new talent.

7.30-8.15pm bed and quiet... Ish.

8.30pn *drum rolllllllll* WINE TIME

I tend to work until 10.30pm ish, then clean the kitchen, do some laundry, cuddle my dogs and browse the internet until bed at midnight ish. Husband gets in at 1am from work.

If I'm lucky, it's sleep until 6am alarm. If I'm unlucky, like last night, the child comes into our bedroom at 3.40am and voms all over my pillow. And my hair.

I would love to go to the gym, and it's all well and good to say just get on with it, but honestly, when? It's just not sustainable for me to sleep 5 hours, and get up at 5am daily. It's not safe either as I'm tired enough driving as it is. I can't do evenings as I need to be at home for my daughter, and weekends are family time.

Wow! I feel really guilty! I currently fit in about 4 rides a week and go to the gym 2-3 times a week. And my horse is on Part Livery!

Yep, regularly! Can't justify the money though. I work full time and husband is a stay at home dad, he works evenings 6.30-12.30, four nights a week. On 1.3 salaries I just can't justify it. Husband does do some cleaning during the day, like the kitchen after lunch and he wipes around the bathrooms. Mainly he does an a amazing job of being a Daddy. He does now do the food shopping which helps hugely!

Agree. Plus, it's all very well when someone has a horse on full livery, as [deleted user] does. When you are trying to juggle DIY livery with a job, plus a toddler, and family (my OH has two other kids from his last relationship as well), then it's not so easy to 'just get on with it'.

I'm lucky in that I work full time but I manage a cafe so have random hours, ranging from 7-4 to 10-7. I have my 2 days off a week but they aren't necessarily weekends.
When I'm on an early start, horses get fed and turned out at about 5:30am (kept at home!), the rest is left till I finish work. Home from work by 4:30, when I muck out, bring in, groom etc so done by 6pm if I'm not riding. Otherwise I will take one of them to hire an arena/do some evening sj/dressage. If I don't ride, I do about an hours housework and settle down for tea by 7pm. Usually in bed by 10!
On my late starts at work, I get up at the same time (5:30), feed and turn out. Then muck out, and will then bring in and ride one of my 2 horses. Done by 9, at work by 10. Home by just after 7, where again I will try and do about an hours worth of housework and have eaten by 8pm and again in bed by 10!!
Days off are my intense house cleaning/ horse riding and "those extra jobs you can never find time for!" days, and will then spend time with either OH or friends in the evening.
It's a lot easier in summer obviously- currently feels like there's just not enough daylight hours to get everything done! It's hard to get the right balance of horse/OH/work/friend/house time, but somehow it just works and everything fits in, even if it doesn't seem possible! I do get very tired, but have recently switched to a new Banting diet (no carbs/sugar, high fat) which has already massively improved my energy levels!!
I don't do any exercise, but don't feel I really need to- im on my feet pretty much all day every day!

I work full time 9-5 mon-fri and have a 13mth & a 4 yr old. Up each day at 7am to sort boys for school/crèche and get myself ready for work. Horsey time is limited but she is on DIY so I'm at the yard every day around 6pm once I've the boys bathed and fed. I ride or lunge, horse is on the walker while I muck out. She is turned out by yard staff daily so I don't feel guilty that's she's standing in too much over winter. Home at 8pm make dinner for me & hubby tidy the house, wash clothes etc, bath/shower bit of TV & bed for 11. I have a cleaner once per week who does a good through clean & all my ironing :) at the weekends hubby has boys for about 3hrs so I can spend more time with horse or longer if I decide to compete a day

Hello
My routine is up at 6.30. Get ready for work and feed animals walk dogs and leave by about 7.45.
Get to yard about 8. Horses live out so I poo pick and do hay nets water etc. Leave by 8.40get to work for 9 am.

Leave work around 5. Get to yard for 5.20. Hang haynets and feed. Leave by 5.40.

Eta: I'm home by 6. Done dinner by 6.30 and am in bed by 9. I love my sleep !

I only ride at weekends in the winter so my horses take me no time really per day. I keep it simple by leaving them out with field shelters and make feeds up in advance. If I had to ride every day od struggle to get it all in.

I work full time in London in quite a full on job. I don't live near the yard or that near work either. However I am on part livery so don't need to worry about any of the basic care.

In the week I try and leave work on time 3 times a week so that I can ride after work normally on board by about 7.15-7.30. I tend to get home about anytime between 9.45-10.30pm by the time I have ridden, untacked and put pony back to bed and secured the yard and then traveled home.

I live on my own so more or less can do what I please with regard to cleaning. I don't need to go to the gym as I am quite fit and slim already.

Before being on part livery I was on DIY grass livery and would get to the yard about 6.30-6.45 after work, go and check and feed pony and then go home would get home about 8.30pm but only rode at weekends. I would then return home and do some more work.

Now I have moved to a part livery yard further away from home and work I do two evenings a week where I can work late at work so it is much easier and I can ride 3 times after work as pony is in at night and all jobs done. So I am riding more even though I don't get home till late on the nights I ride I am less tired because I have a couple of nights where I can go straight home and rest.

I'm on full diy with no one else around to help but just my 3 boys.

6.25 get up, get ready for work etc
7.25 arrive at yard, feed, change rugs, muck out one, turnout, poo pick field and bring wheelbarrow back to muck out other stable, and do whatever else I can
8.20 leave for work (9-5 by usually leave 5.20)
6 arrive at yard, finish off anything that's left - haynets/waters. Catch in, groom, etc, on to ride one by 7/7.15, off by 7.50, put to bed, feed, cuddles
Home anytime between 8.15-8.30, depends how long snuggles last!

I live with my parents still and spoils in that I get home to dinner, just have to shower and bed! I could go to the gym, but realistically I can't be bothered! The horses keep me fit and if I feel frumpy I will go to the gym.

Weekends are for competing!

Up at 6
At yard for 6:30, feed, muck out and turn out two horses.
Home for 7:35
Child 1 on school bus at 7:45
Child 2 on school bus at 8:10
Between 7:30 and 8:30 have breakfast and shower
Start work at 8:30
Finish work at 5
At yard for 5:30. Ride and finish stables. Put horses to bed.
Home for 7:30
Eat
Do some house work
In bed for 10pm

Two evenings, I do not ride as the horses need a break as well, so I am home earlier. I would love to have part livery, but apart from the cost which is prohibitive, at a previous yard the horses care, shall we say, could-have-been-better, so now I am DIY plus evening bring in (get from field and chuck in stable).

I work full time hours but manage to cram them in to four days a week so I get weekends of and usually one weekday, however I often end up working all five weekdays.

In the summer I'm on assisted DIY which means my boy gets turned out for me in the mornings and then I go up after work, usually arrive at the yard around 6:15pm. I muck out, prepare haynets (he has to come in at night as he gets too fat if he's out for too long and has too much gorging time). I ride as often as I can, usually a minimum of 5 days a week. Day off I try to get stuff done at home (I find I can get on with it better without OH around).

Weekends I have to fit in visiting my Mum and watching Formula 1 :) I like to get out competing/fun rides/etc. as often as I can.

Winter because I have to be at work for 8am and my journey is pretty horrific traffic wise and I don't finish until 5.30pm (on a good day) I have my boy on 5 day part livery for the simple fact that paying for turn out/bring in each day costs almost as much as the 5 day P/L. I still like to go over my boy's bed each evening as I'm pretty OCD like that and try to ride as often as possible. I usually get home around 8.30 ish If just 'get on' and don't spend too much time socialising. My day off (when I get it) I like to either make the most of hacking opportunities or to get out to mid week shows or lessons off site ( the joys having my own lorry).

I would love to be on DIY all year round. When I used to work 2 miles from home on a strict 9-5 basis I could go up in the mornings and would be back at the yard by 5.30pm so had a lot more tine with horsey and a lot less time travelling to and from work.

I'm lucky in that I don't have kids and my OH is very understanding about the amount of time I spend with the horse.

Age also plays a part. when I was younger I could cope with the 5.30am starts but now I'm an old bird the mere idea of getting up that early each morning horrifies me. I do get more tired more quickly than I used to much as I hate to admit it.

My house, though reasonably clean is no show home, OH tends to do the garden, I let ironing pile up till we're desperate for ironed clothes (thank goodness riding gear doesn't need ironing LOL)

The trouble is, despite all my good intentions to do loads of housework on my day off, time just slips away when I'm at the yard LOL

Wake up at 7.30 out the house by 8am
10/15 min drive to the yard (depends on morons on the country back roads)
if i'm feeding in the mornings, feed & hay YO horse, Feed/let out the Ducks and Chickens, Hay YO other horse, Hay and feed my boy and my sisters horse.
If i'm not feeding in the mornings I will just hay and feed my boy and my sisters.
Try and leave at 8.30 but that rarely happens and I'm normally late for work
Work 9-5, drive home and wait for my sister to finish work and come home
Normally back up the yard for 6pm chuck feed at our 2 and make feeds up if needed
Home by 6.30 most days

Weekends they get fed when I crawl out of bed

Gosh! I'm amazed at how many of you get time to ride!!

I'm up at 5:20am, shower but put on yard clothes-head to the yard, usually get there around 6 ish, muck out, fill Haynets etc. Turn out (one horse! But he has a HUGE stable and I'm a perfectionist so takes awhile)

Stop off at park on the way home, walk dog for thirty minutes ish, drive home, change, breakfast and then at work by 8am. Finish anywhere between 4/5pm and then it's home to collect the dog, head to the yard, bed down/bring in/ feed etc and walk dog for 45 minutes ish in the way home.

Cook dinner and then fall asleep on the sofa!

I am lucky though-I sort the animals and cook, OH does all cleaning and washing (I'm not even allowed to do the washing!)

Will get a bit easier but OH has recently changed roles with work so is working 12 hour days with an hour commute either side, but this will calm down (he is opening a new M&S store) once shop opens-then he may be able to walk the dog a couple of mornings a week so I can ride as we have an outdoor school :)

I get up between 6.30m and 6.45 and try to leave the house around 7.15am. I get the yard to turn out for me in the morning. I normally get to work around 8am and then leave at 6pm.

I have a 45 minute commute so get the yard about 6.45 and then it takes me about 30 minutes to muck out one horse and check two in the field. I am normally home by about 7.30 and then quickly tidy the house and get things ready for the next day and try to be in bed by around 10pm.

My yard has an indoor school so I feel as though I should make more of an effort to ride in the evenings but I never seem to have the energy.

You're all superheroes :) Mine is on Full Livery and I don't think I could do it without that luxury. And I really do consider it a luxury.

The office is a one hour commute by train/walk in one direction, and the yard is a 25min drive in the other direction from home, so there is no way I could get to and from the yard twice a day. I also think I'd lose my desire to ride - I've read a lot of posts about people caring for their horses twice a day but only riding once or twice a week.

Mine goes something like this:
7.30 Up shower and dress
8am Out the door
9am Arrive at work
6pm Leave work
7pm Arrive home & change
7.30pm Arrive to yard, tack up & ride
9(ish, depends if I get distracted chatting to other liveries!) home, eat dinner, spend time with OH
11pm Bed, read
11.30pm Sleep

Realistically, I have time to go to the gym. We have a gym right next door to our office, I could go on lunch break. I'd love to be an early riser (always wanted to try riding before work), but I cannot function with less than 8 hours of sleep, and cannot force myself out of bed in the mornings.

It's a focus for me though! I'd really like a better routine, and to become a morning person :)

Nato, when I bought my horse, I bought her for life. Whether I ride her as much as I would like is irrelevant in my mind. She is part of my family and will stay so. I ride her as much as I can. Be that zero times one week (due to work/toddler issues/sickness/weather), or 4 times per week at it's best, my horse is happy and so am I. My instructor rides her each week and between us she is exercised 4-5 times weekly unless as above, external factors occur.

I think it's all about what you want from horse ownership at the end of the day, and how dedicated you are to your own animal to make things work.

I think moomin and I have come to a similar position.

My horse was bought to compete however. Over the years, things have changed. I do still compete, but it's at the good will and grace of my husband. He does child care all day every day during the week, so for me to then swan off all weekend is taking advantage, and moreover I miss my child. I do compete probably atleast once a month, sometimes more, but it can no longer be the focus of my horse ownership as I would be perpetually dissatisfied. I have made mental adjustments to the new relationship I have with my horses and am happier for it. At the start I craved the competitions and the focus, and stressed myself trying to achieve it, which for us was not possible: since I let go and made peace with it, I am much happier, so is my family and my horse. Incidentally I don't ride any less now than I did then, and I don't compete much less either! I just don't feel a burning stress to do something I can't. I still ride five days a week amd I still school the same, but now it's for the pleasure and not the rosette.

I am naturally very competitive and I'm sure in future, when our daughter is older I will return to my pre kids compete every weekend and usually mid week, chase the qualifiers days. But there's days for that in my future, I only 27. Right now are the days for my child, she's only small once and I won't ever get these days back.

I totally agree with you Moomin - my horse is for life and regardless of whether I can or can't ride (she's got arthritis so it's likely she'll be retired early or at the very least work will be pulled back as she gets older), she will be taken care of, and I've made provisions for this. I have a lot of respect for people who commit to their horse 100% and ensure they're always looked after.

For me, right now, I only have my horse just under 2 years, so I really want to just ride and compete - obviously if she can't do what I need her to do I would scale back her work. For me, full livery gives me the opportunity to ride 4-5 days a week by giving me the time back that I would have spent doing the care part. If I couldn't ride I'd get a sharer, but I'm picky about who rides her so for now it's best that it's just me :D

I know once I get married and have kids, my priorities will totally change - but right now my priority is enjoying riding her, and ensuring she gets the best care possible - in my case it's paying someone else to do it :)

Well luckily for me I bought my first house this year and decided to buy it as close to work and horse as possible! Both are a 10 minute drive from my house...less with no traffic!
6am get up, feed cats have a shower
6:20 leave house and drive to yard
6:30 arrive at yard (Horses are already fed)
6:40 morning cuddles/rug changes/turnout my mare and her bestie
6:50 muck out/haynets/water etc
7:10 back into car to brush my hair and do my make up
7:30 arrive at work (get changed into respectable clothes in the staff toilet!)
5:30pm leave work
5:40 arrive back at yard (mare is already in)
6pm groom/tack up/ride
7ish cool down mare fill nets for the next days
7:30pm feed whole yard/give night nets
8pm arrive at gym
9:30 arrive home
10pm dinner (if I can be bothered by that point) then bed!
My mare is on complete DIY aside from my friend bringing her in with her mare at 3pm, it works well as they are only together in the field so I turnout and she takes in.
I probably could afford to have her turned out etc in the morning but I couldn't afford her mucked out as well and I don't like the thought of her coming into the field from a dirty stable! So needs must and I don't have time in the morning to ride and then have a shower etc unless I got up earlier! Plus the gym is usually less busy by the time I get there at night and means I can have my pick of what I feel like doing that day.

My horse is on full livery 7 days a week so I don;t need to worry about his basic requirements. I couldn't have him otherwise. I have a full time job (one hour commute each way), a toddler, a neurotic dog, a husband and a house.

I have to throw money at everything to be able to ride/keep family/not live in a hovel/ensure dog walked/child not neglected.

Up at 6, rouse toddler/husband/dog. Make breakfast for husband/toddler/dog
Shower, dress, try to look presentable. ditto toddler.
Spend anything between 2 and 20 minutes levering toddler into the car.
Drop toddler at nursery. Despite any earlier tantrums at the sight of nursery toys and friends I cease to exist.
Get in car - wipe away tears of guilt and rejection
Drive remaining 45 minutes (on a good day at the mercy of the M11) journey to work.
Gym at lunchtime -twice a week - if am riding that night I work through
If riding leave ework at 5pm. Get to yard at 6. Throw tack on pony. Ride (of sorts). Put to bed and leave yard at 7.20 latest.
Get home, sometimes have dinner, sometimes don't. Read many stories to small person. Usually in bed by 9.

I ride both days at weekends where possible.

I'm not sure I've got my priorities right as I'm very much 'absent' from my family alot of the time but at the moment it works.

I am on full livery, which I was concerned about at first but now I wouldn't go back to DIY unless I reduced hours at work.

Monday, yard is closed so I will do the food shopping after work. Once home, I will do a bit of tidying and cook a nice meal. I do Pilates with my Osteopath every other week, so if I am there I get home around 6.30-7pm and shopping will be click & collect or delivery arranged for later that evening. Arrive home to do dinner and have a chill out evening with OH.

Tuesday, sharer day so straight home from work and will put a wash on, cook dinner, entertain the cats etc. Generally will finish chores that didn't get done at the weekend.

Wed - Fri and yard/riding days. Up at 6am, get ready for work. Leave at 7am, get to work between 7.30-7.45, depending on traffic. Finish at 4pm (rarely have lunch break!), arrive at yard 4.45pm. Get ready & ride, usually done by 6pm then have to cool him off before feeding & putting to bed. He is full livery but I still top up hay, water, skip out & change rugs. Get home between 7-7.30pm.

OH commutes to London so he leaves same time as me and gets home between 6.30-7pm, so we usually make dinner together. Make lunches for next day, check laundry is dry & fold/put away. Wash towels/linen or saddlecloths (!!). 8-10pm veg out and catch up with OH, shower etc. Off to bed.

Saturday is usually sharer's day again. OH and I will do all the housework; vacuuming, dusting, clean kitchen & bathroom, tidy up & start the laundry (in summer we get it all done in a day as everything dries so fast on the line! in winter it all dries inside the house and takes ages! considering a tumble drier!). The rest of the day is spent together, we will go out or visit family or even just stay in, play video games, DIY, decorate or other home project. In the evening, we will make dinner together or go out, see friends.

Sunday is hobby day, OH goes off to do his archery & I will go and spend time at the yard. Both home by 2pm and start preparing for the week ahead or will pop out somewhere. If out competing then this changes things, but this is generally once or twice per month.

Try to be clean/tidy in the week but most housework is done at the weekend. I could fit time in for gym or other activity, but having a bad back, even riding is sometimes too much but not about to give that up. Am considering starting swimming so looking into options.

I am fast realising I have nothing to complain about.

Up at 5am, feed dogs, at the yard for 5.45ih depending on how long I drink coffee and procrastinate for

Feed, turnout, muck out, hay/water my two and a livery, sometimes chuck friends horse out too.

I'm a freelance groom
And get to my first client around 7am. Work until anytime between 1pm and 3pm, luckily I walk a clients dog as part of my job there so mine get a walk the time too. Go to yard, bring mine in and anything up to about 3 other horses, ride/lunge my two, groom, cuddles, bed. Am finding I'm getting home around 5-5.30pm ATM which is nice. Later in summer as am eventing and horses need to do more then.

Occasionally start at 8.30 and ride before work and finish later, Monday's I finish late so a friend usually brings mine in.

Home, quick tidy, make lunch for next day, prep dinner, wait for my partner to get in, eat dinner then go to bed at 9ish to be asleep by 10.

I don't go to the gym as frankly I do enough exercise, I eat like a pig and since taking on a couple new clients and my horses being back in work after a holiday the weight is falling off me, but I do do aerial silks and pole dancing for fun at 7pm a couple of times week.

A few time saving tips - only keep tidy the bits of the house that someone might see if they stopped by unannounced (and really - dont have these people on your life - pre arranged visitors are the only ones you should allow; those who give you time to make the house presentable!) Only tidy the garden when people ask your neighbours if the house next door is unoccupied. In winter, sleep in your thermals then flannel your armpits, stick clean clothes on top and voila you're ready for the day! Dont go home to change from work wear to horsey wear or vice versa - keep a couple of sets of clothing in the car and change in a (quiet!) layby on route. Dont bother with time consuming meal prep - beans on toast, cheesy pasta, even a big bowl of cereal, all perfectly life sustaining and quick to make! A lazy horse that makes you work harder than him is also a perfectly viable alternative to going to the gym. Dont buy any clothes that need ironing - in this day and age of space-age fabrics, there is really no need! Catch up on any missed sleep at your desk at work (surely thats not just me?!)

I'm lucky to have mine on livery. When I'm not working shifts my day is the following:

6am up for work
0630 arrive at work
1615 finish work (if I'm lucky)
1630 arrive at yard and get changed
1700 ride
1745 feed and hay
1815 leave yard
1830 back home and eat
2000 Gym
2100 shower, iron uniform and watch tele
2200 bed

But I work weird shift patterns some times and therefore sometimes I have plenty of time in the day to go to the yard if I'm on nights but it's hard to get into a routine if your job doesn't have one!

I've not mastered the art of being really swift at the yard yet as I get caught up chatting to people!

Good God. I feel guilty sitting down watching Midsomer Murders with a takeaway. Ponies outside in the dark, tramping around a muddy field , happy as Larry. Feel I should be exercising while waiting for something nutritious for my lunch for tomorrow cooks in the oven, holding the Hoover in one hand and cleaning tack with the other. Think will have a cuppa, himself is gone to the chipper :) . Really though, I'm jealous. Think will keep this thread as inspiration.
