No you're not overreacting, I would be fuming too. However you need to see what happens and if the new livery interferes or bullies or upsets you or your pony go straight to the yard manager to get it sorted.eta I've just read your post last night, what a rude man he is! Please go straight to yard owner and insist they tell them to leave you and yours alone, it's non of Thier business.infact make sure the y o knows how much they have upset you.this guy needs to apologise.

I feel sorry for a person who tries to interfere with my horse without permission (evil laugh). I am a calm as you can be person, until I am not. If you are concerned the newbie is going to act on any 'threats' I would speak to the YO and explicitly advise them that no one has authorisation to interfere with your pony except those who are involved in its care, end of. That way, it puts the onus on the YO to act accordingly. I would suggest a stable camera but perhaps that is an option to have in your back pocket should things escalate.

Update - I have spoken to the yard owner this morning and informed them of what's happened, let's just say they wasnt impressed I have been on the yard over 25 years so he knows me and my pony very well plus he's a family friend. He's going to have a word with the new livery to tell them under no circumstances they should touch my pony.
I would love them to dare mess with him he's a typical grumpy old pony 😋.

I read the last sentence as referring to the Yard Owner.
Grumpy he may, or may not be, but it gave me a much-needed giggle!
I'm glad that your YO has had a word with the unfortunate man. Let's hope that it's worked and the incomers mind their own business.
