I had a great big grey warmblood; the old-fashioned type with a head like a cart horse and feet the size of dinner plates. He was fractionally under 17hh and very noble looking.

He was called "Mouse" at home. Everyone assumed it was because he was a bit of a wimp but it actually started because we got down to the yard one morning to find that he'd rolled on one in the night. There was a very flat rodent in his box and a fabulous squished mouse stain on his side. It took ages to scrub off ��

Brilliant.
