Just wondering the average cost of gelding at the minute, Planning on gelding mine in April and would like to see how much I’ll be paying. 🙂

£350 for mine last year (mule yearling, laid down at home)

And then you can double that for his post-castration complications…. 😳
And potentially would have had to times it by 10 if he’d needed opening up to clean out the infracted tissue. My vet did nothing wrong…. It’s a procedure with a high risk of complications!

Probably best to phone a couple of local vets to get an idea.
Mine does castration clinics twice a year for yearlings and 2 Yr old with both down, where folk pre book and take them in for day surgery. Not many do that tho.

How old is yours?
Rising 2 this year, he's quite cheeky though so unsure if they'll do him standing

I also have no transport to the vets so when they come out do they do it in the field or in stable?

Had numerous done standing sedation, £300 ish if all goes well.
If you need potential costs if it's not straightforward I have details of those too 🙈
