Every winter my yard owner puts on a winter series for us - quite low key but all in the name of fun! Yesterday was the second in the series (only 4 dates this year, usually it's 6) and as it's December we had fancy dress dressage!
Our first class was Prelim 10 - Was very pleased with Genie although felt it wasn't our best test. Shows what I know doesn't it! We won on 76.8% including two 9's and a TEN (!!!!!) for our first centre line! Good pony!
Second class was Novice 26 - lots of canter which isn't great for Genie as she still struggles a bit and just falls onto the forehand, sets her jaw, and is gone. However it was a lot less green than it has been, and we won on 70.8%!
We didn't do the music as on Saturday when I tried to practice she just kept sticking her head in the air and tanking off with me - oops! As a result we didn't get our music sorted, but watching everyone was great instead. Some of the fancy dress was AMAZING - it was won by someone dressed as a Christmas Pudding with a plate around her hips, and her horse had a rug on that had plates, knives, forks and spoons attached to it!
I made do with some tinsel around my hat, but Genie was dressed up... I don't think she'll speak to me again, and I was very very glad she isn't head shy - the antlers bashed her on the ears with every stride!
