being exceedingly nosy I've been looking about and i *think* it's the ones that she took in the 85cm class which have points (having won aswell!) and one which she took in the 65cm has done 1 intro with her with a bit of a high score, still probably more than capable of doing slightly bigger but who knows
How often do you get to practise BE dressage tests apart from in BE? I can totally see why she would want to take her youngsters out to ride these tests rather than the normal BD ones.
West wilts is her local, better that she supports it and boosts the numbers by entering rather than feel you have to stay at home in case you upset people which don't ride professionally.
Maybe its because I show jump and yes, its annoying when Nicole Pavitt has loads of entries in your class, but oh for that feeling of beating a pro!
But why couldnt she go HC?
BE make advanced rider go HC at intro and this is below intro standard. Those with BE points especially should be HC.
I agree it's fab to get the chance to do the dressage tests but she didnt need to gain the rosettes did she? If it's about the horse's education then she should be going HC. If, for example, I took Moon there to do the 85cm class I'd have her HC- not because I'd be likely to win (because I wouldnt!) but because I feel she is ineligible for the class. I wouldnt take my 6yr old with no BE experience HC in any of the classes but then again, I've never ridden at 4* level.
CSJ - she could have entered HC... You can't do that BSJA then compete competitively in the same ring. Do you honestly say that if a pro took a horse which had won money at say Fox in an unaff 85cm class you wouldn't be annoyed?!!

Just to add - anything which has points at novice and has been round an intermediate really does not count as a youngster to me! If she'd been taking her baby horses out then I don't think anyone would have a problem with it!
You could agrue she should have gone HC, but if rules allow her to enter, so what................
I personnel think that ggs are my hobby and if i enter comp and pro are there - yep they should beat me, hands down. If not, they had cr*p day at office, plus i get to look at their nice horses....... and prob pick up some useful tips....
We don't know full story on why horses where choosen to run etc... and if no rules where broken............ not bothered
Ok read the post and these were not youngsters, she should have HC'd. I doubt she cared if she got a rosette, so should have let the true unaff competitors get their ribbons
IMO leave the the girl alone, I am sure she had good reason, poor last run, confidence building as a partnership.
In terms of running HC, if she was eligible with the rules why should she run HC. If i was eligible for a class i would not run HC, why should you.
And as for the other people, being 2nd to the pros is a good as a win and if they had beaten her it would have made your day.
I'm afraid if you normally compete at high level, but jump your horses in 2' classes without going HC, you have to expect some flak. Yes it might be technically allowed under the rules, but it really is not good sportsmanship - or does no-one care about these days?
If I am not mistaken one of the horses had a win at Novice last time out? Wouldn't really call that a bad run!
I must admit, I saw her at Somerly on one that was being an absolute pig in the SJ warm up so when I first saw this post I thought that might have been the one she took to the CT - in which case fair enough it clearly needed to get out to as many parties as poss and chill a bit. Ditto if they are youngsters, there was nothing else on at the weekend and they needed an outing.
BUT, sorry, can't see good reason for taking those with points and competing at Nov/Int - not youngsters in my opinion and certainly not in need of the practice over 65/85cm!
