Very unsporting.

[/ QUOTE ]

What I think is 'unsporting' is the fact that you have taken the time to look down you noses at a fellow competitor, thats why there is a bad name within the sport due to this sort of behaviour
mad.gif

I dont expect many of the people their competing would have looked at this in a negative way, I myself strive on looking at professionals and seeing the way in which they deal with certain horses, it gives us something to aspire to doesn't it ?
confused.gif
This is how many professionals have got to where they are now by watching people better than themselves.

Sorry this is not aimed at anyone in particular

[/ QUOTE ]

i do look up to many professionals. but i reserve the right to not agree with things they do as well. its the price of fame unfortunately. this is by far not the worst thing that she could have done...but please remember that she's in the public arena and so will be criticised just as much as praised when people feel that she's done something well.....

Jumping over the height of the fences in the arena in the warm up was probably against the rules & if so should have incurred eleimination anyway. Even if not against the rules leaving the fence at such a height that others trying to warm up for the same class couldn't use it was ill mannered to say the very least.
When I had a 'good' horse we regularly used to go to (& enjoy) RC open events - as HC competitors.

You clearly have more money than sense if you are turning down prize money when you have entered the class out of your own pocket. If only we all had as much money to throw away!Get out there practising so you can get 2 horses round Badminton double clear..take a note out of a pro's book and you might get there

[ QUOTE ]
Right you bunch of sour negative people.Lets get some little facts straight...Georgie couldn't enter HC because its OPEN TO ALL, the horses needed an outing clearly and as west wilts is 15mins from the yard why not go there?A few of them that were competing were her own therefore she pays the entry like the rest of you so why is she not entitled to the prize money, like the rest of you?I know for a fact that one horse gets very tense in the arena, so a trip to a non stressful atmosphere was necessary. At least one of the others she had never taken out and had had problems with a previous rider. And why not fill the lorry up to make the most of the fuel and time in getting there and riding?Your all sour and need to spend less time on here and more time practising so you can maybe be as successful as Georgie one day.Take a step back and look how pathetic your all being

[/ QUOTE ]

FWIW i think GS would be far more embarrassed to have something like this associated with her.
frown.gif

i think that she genuinely made a mistake but people will discuss things that happen- its life unfortunately...i'm sure she'll get over it...but it might make her think about other people's feelings next time if she has been upset by this...some people in the class would have been upset and the people who had to get off to alter her overheight practice fence may have been upset....

I just hope she DOESN'T read all these posts!!

[/ QUOTE ]

Ooooopssy I think she may have read it
smirk.gif
and maybe she's a little mortified to say the least

Hey Loser.............don't think your attitude here is helping your cause, or the person in question come to that.......
(Welcome to the forum by the way........)

Nope, my bank manager would certainly NOT agree with you on that one!
I will never have the ability to ride to anywhere near Georgie's level, and I fully respect the commitment and dedication she demonstrates to achieve her results, however, I will NOT take a leaf out of anyone's book if it means compromising what is fair and just. And in my case, if that means not collecting a yellow ribbon when I have paid £7 to compete in what turns out to be a class of children then so be it.

Well done everyone you've all been successful in really upsetting the person in question, your all a load of sour jealous old bitches that seriously need to find something better to do with your time.

[/ QUOTE ]

oh dear! and has the person in question given any thought to how the people who she deprived rosettes and prizes of might have felt??

[ QUOTE ]
she's not embarrassed by my remarks in fact

[/ QUOTE ]

Now how do you know that? Is 'she' perhaps having some imput here?

grin.gif

I'm sure she isn't the only one to do this, it's just that this one is kind of news of the moment!
I know each show has rules and regulations but come on there is being fair and sporting to take into account too otherwise why do people compete HC? If there was no need for HC then it wouldn't exist!

no i am not Georgie and nor is she having input, she is however someone who may know me.grow up,get some mates and learn to ride so your not so sour about petty rubbish like this

Oh dear loser, you do sound like you have close links to GS and you are really not doing her reputation any good at all.

[/ QUOTE ]

well if she's not then i would have a pretty altered opinion of her as a sportsperson then...and i think a lot of others would be shocked that such a talented young rider had such an unprofessional and childish outlook of "i've been clear round badminton and you haven't so up yours" but my faith in humanity suggests that she doesn't even know you've written this
smirk.gif

Now Loser ,what you need to do is learn how to use the forum.....you see you seem to be replying to my remarks, & yet your post indicates a reply to Just Helen. Do be careful - these things can get so confused otherwise.

If bothered by this go to restricted competitions.

your argument should be with west wilts and the rules of the competition and shouldnt be with georgie

NO it is totally GS fault - she should not have entered her NOVICE horse in a 85cm class!!

If she wanted the comp experience/run out/to support her local venue then you can still do that whilst running HC!

I am all for pros supporting the local buisnesses, but on youngsters for the smaller comps and not the experienced ones
crazy.gif

GS if you are reading this, then I hope you have learnt from your mistake and to realise that there are other people in the class

I am not reading the whole of this thread we have had this conversation before.
However, I shall point out the concerns of ALL those on here to West Wilts when I am there tommorow if you like ( i believe ther are some forum members entered btw
wink.gif
But Georgie cannot expect the mere mortals to be happy if she does this sort of thing which is hardly to give a youngster experience if it already has points, because it is unfair to many of those contesting them. It is not against teh rules of those competitons as written but perhaps against the spirit of the thing and that is what is upsetting people.

To be honest, I'm not too bothered about this. If there's no restriction on who (horse or rider) can enter, then they can enter. Given that she isn't turning up there every week to clean up, I think it is fair to assume there was a genuine reason for the outing.
I'm a 1 horse amateur doing British Novice SJ and unaff dressage (when I'm bullied into it) and I'd be more than happy to compete against her in unaff CT. I'd be well happy if I managed to beat her, but if not never mind; I'd watch her closely and try to learn a few things. The fact that she's quite easy on the eye would just be an added bonus.

Well I've just sat here for ages reading thorugh all these posts and have to say Loser, your doing yourself or Georgie no favours here, there's no need for the snotty attitude!

I have thought about all the reasons why a pro, or anyone else for that matter that regularly competes at a higher level, would compete in such a class and am afraid that I can see NO reason why they wouldn't go HC. Even I that only competes at a low level eventing would be embarrased to enter withoug being HC.

However, I think as someone else mentioned that maybe she just didn't think. Lets just let it rest now - before it spirals into a slanging match between the two camps
grin.gif

I don't people are attacking georgie personally, it would be the same if any 4 star rider had done the same thing. At the end of the day she should of gone HC thats it..

Jump racing if you read my and others responses you will see we did suggest there may have been a good reason for her entering, but try and see it from the others' point of view; It's like entering you in a low level car race against Jensen Button, yes he would have paid his entry fee, but you really wouldn't expect to see him in that sort of race in a proper racing car against you in a fiat panda would you?
Living where we do we regularly compete against pro riders, but they tend to enter HC...just to make the playing field a level one for the rest..

LOL, she got the message then. So, any explanations or just insults?

How can you be so nasty, Georgie is far too mature and decent to hurl insults and in the most the eventing community fully support her decision to compete her horses at this event. Go and pick on somebody else, this is a young girl with feelings, your an absolute disgrace to the equine world.

I'm not being snotty just supporting a girl in a sicky situation. It's happened,it'll happen again may or maybe not with her.People need to start worrying about the more important things in life. She is so beautiful people should appreciate being able to watch her.

It may have been the "sour jealous old bitches" comment that inspired my amusement.

GS's feelings are her responsibility, I empathize more with the feelings of her fellow competitors who weren't sat on experienced eventers. I hope when she gets over her hurt feelings she can understand where people are coming from.
