I've had that stuck in my brain forever it seems! Where did it come from, a song?

Graf Goshenite Gertrude
It's supposedly the mother of gemstones and it's cleavage is 'poor and in one direction' (who knew gemstones had cleavage?) which whilst you probably don't want a reminder of this year, her name will always remind you that you've battled tougher and harder things when she decides to give you a bad dressage test or something. It's very pretty too, just like Gertie(and if it's clear, it's in purest form so links to the Grace bit).
No it was Basil Brush according to google...I didnt know that, you learn something new every day!
of course then if you ever bred from her in the future and had a colt it would have to be basil brush!
Haven't read all the replies so I might be duplicating....
How about Grafitas
or
A Certain Amount of Grafitas
Will make her sound important and a serious prospect![]()
Grumpy Gert
Ginormous Grace (which would suit if she is anything like the other too!)
Graf-licious
Gracefully Sober
Gracefully Green
Galway Girl
Gazooks its Grace!![]()
I'm just a bit worried that, much as like Giraffe McPokeynose, it may not be great when she fails as an eventer and I try and sell her as a dressage horse.
Victoria sponge or chocolate crispie cake?![]()
Why not choose a nice prefix and then you will not have this dilema (well so much) for the next one? With Grace producing lots of nice progeny and the future of the dynasty assured with her producing fillys you need something that even if you do sell will stay with her and you will know it was you.
Kermit!![]()
You could always add "Griff Graff" to other things, like "Griff Graff Get Going" (I know you like your alliteration and it would hopefully stop you pootling round picking up time faults with her like poor Cal has suffered...!) or "Griff Graff Graphic" (nice tongue twister for commentators?!
), "Griff Graff Gertie" etc.
What about Green-something. Greengrass Gertie. Greenlees Gertie. That sort of thing?
Grafresco or may be a bit more female Grafresca - with a bit of Italian for green or fresh (I think)
Gertie Gitana - was a music hall star in the 1920s think Gitana means little gypsy which is a bit cute but its also rhyming slang for banana.......
Terrible at this - ours all have bizarre Dutch and Belgian names .......... beginning with W's and Z's
Last horse I named was called Basil
Not very creative but:
'Van De Graaff'
As in the generator that makes your hair stand on end but might be a bit nerdy...
Oh and I love the Kermit suggestion just cant work out how to include it, Kermit Van De Graaff?![]()

Gert Going
Gert Grafting
channeling my northern roots here
How about
Gertie McGraff
or
Graffngert McPokey?
Sorry that's the best I could come up with when mucking out!!!
Sorry, I missed this earlier.I never knew gemstones had cleavage, lucky things.
I'd like it if she did turn out to be a little gem. Will add Graf Goshenite to the shortlist.

And if she's having an annoying day, you can convert it to Graf Goshen****e![]()
