i did but it was many years ago. Mine is classed as commercial, rather than residential and the cost depends on where the nearest power cable is and how far it has to go. Luckily i have a lamppost outside so there was already a mains cable and I have the meter box just inside the gate. I then have armoured cable buried to my stables and a consumer unit there.
Mine was done through Southern Electric (my area), so have a look for your local electricity companies. The cable/electrics to my yard were down to me to organise.

Usually UK Power Networks do this but your 1st port of call is through your nearest supplier.
Its not cheap, you'll get charged by the metre, then for installing meter to 2 or 3 phase.
Then you also need to get local electrician quotes to fit your fuse board, wiring, lights and sockets etc in yard and cabling to meter and fuse board.

We were quoted £30,000 15 years ago, it needed to come quarter of a mile, and that price was assuming all landowners gave permission.

We've been quoted about 10k to come about 5m! There's a transformer right in the gateway but some technical reason why additional work is needed etc. We are attempting planning on the site so will only do the electricity if we are successful, I have a generator there for now.

Mine is about 3m but because the land outside my field isn’t owned by anyone apparently, we had to dig the trench ourselves. i think mine was about £3.5k but it’s honestly the best money i’ve ever spent! My OH did the work inside so only costs were materials.

We have no electric either and the quote was over 25k a couple of years ago. Contact whichever is the main supplier in your area who does the infrastructure. Not cheap and not all that quick either!

Depending where the mains supply is you may also need a road closure order if the cable is under the road or on the other side.

We had a new supply put in to serve a holiday cottage/let. It was 200m from the nearest supply. Western Power quoted 15k which was more than we could afford, so we hired a digger and put the armoured cable in ourselves. Western power came and connected to the grid and an electrician connected the cottage end up.
It was a fairly big undertaking and we were lucky with the site (off road/public right of way etc.) but it cost < than 5k to do it this way.
How easy/expensive it will be to do is site dependent.

Or a way leave from a landowner, not just to cross a field, but sometimes to cross or follow along an unadopted road or access track.
OP, last time I got prices was nearly 6 years ago. £2,500 or thereabouts to get yard wired up with wiring and fittings to a consumer unit. £21,000, yes, 21k to get the power to my yard including a wayleave to cross the access track.
A neighbour past me has now had power put on (cost them 28k 2 yrs ago) and they did ask if I wanted to share costs, but I declined. The mains are now 20 metres from my driveway there, so it's at least a good point if selling in the future.
These days as I no longer run pro equestrian stuff nor have liveries, I'm just fine with my 12v lighting, head torch and occasional use of generator.
To add, Clipping is by battery clippers, vets bring portable scanner and xray, anything else then I box over to vets. I have twin burner camping hob and grill so can make a cuppa and toast, heat water for poulticing etc.

We were quoted £15k about 10 years ago and that was without the work we had to do and it had loads of caveats on the quote. Instead we went for a solar system, which has worked without fail since and powers all our lights, 12 of them plus the electric fence. The whole lot with all fixtures, fittings and installation was less than £1k, and has easily paid for itself umpteen times over. Honestly I'd look at this before you spend a lot of money.

Look at all the alternatives, solar, turbine, genny - electrical connections are a rip off. My house is one of a pair of Victorian semis - my side was derelict when I bought it, the neighbour's power supply runs from the road, round the side and back of my house under the guttering, and round to their house.
I was charged £2k to replace the bit of cable from the top of my wall down to the new meter box. And that was with my electrician doing all the bits he could.
