A fortnight ago the giant finally made his debut at Calmsden. He was a good boy to lead the dressage but went rather shell shocked for the jumping phases, but a pole and a clear with a couple of time gave him 3rd place, even if his very good jockey did have to practically pick him up & carry him around :D

So today would be interesting. Had he learnt anything?! Hell yeah, came out good in all 3 phases and nailed it to win on his dressage score of 23.3 in good company.
This lump of a cob x is really starting to get under my skin ...

He just has the best canter, I could watch him all day. Surely you can't still be intending to sell??

He's such a star! I'd also like to be as talented as his rider :p.
Does the win mean that he's qualified for a Badminton RF next year?
 
I loved every moment of those videos. You are a credit to each other. He is so supple .What a lovely dressage test .He moved so well on both reins and totally ignored outside distractions .Even when the flies were giving him gyp he didnt over react. Beautiful showjumping canter.Only criticism ,get more camera people for his XC I NEED TO SEE MORE!
 
He is so cool ! Fabulous result , well done. Loved the xc , those jumps where nothing to him , he took it all in his stride .

Thank you for your lovely comments, I love him to bits and was super lucky to find him.
Will I sell him? Who knows!! If the right person comes along then yes it would be sensible as I have a 2yo Balou du Rouet waiting in the wings and I can’t afford to run two. But maybe I’ll hang onto him another year rather than advertising this autumn which was the plan. (Read - horse probably not going anywhere :D )

Mental note to get more XC next time!
Might take him autumn hunting, but will probably opt to give him a holiday in field rather than hunting him if he is staying. Possibly a couple of early and late team chases. Not eligible for grassrootes but maybe a tentative aim of 1* by end of next season?

Very very nice, will you take over the reins on the eventing side? Not sure how you could resist with that!!

Oh trust me I can resist very easily, my competition mojo has gone down the pan. Have forced myself to take him to BD for his CV, but if he is going to stay to event I shan’t concern myself with BD!

These days I enjoy the homework and then handing the reins over to someone more proficient for competing!

Understand, I get as much joy watching Boggle under his jockey as I do competing him, it’s just a different type of day!

Ooh is this the giant boy who was being sold as a hunter? He is awesomely awesome. He looks smashing. He looks like a powerhouse of a horse but that teeny tiny rider is doing an amazing job riding him! All the training and hard work paying off.
