We'll after the enormous cost of joining the Pony Club I though we best start doing something!

So yesterday the girls had their 1st rally. Wasn't sure we'd actually get there as when we got to the end of our lane the pony was making a right racket and when i looked the through the little monkey had climbed the breast bar! So got him off and flipped him around so he traveled backwards half way up the stall (so nothing to climb) he stood beautifully the whole 30 minutes to the racecourse.

The girls share a pony as eldest is not completely off the lead (and I can't be everywhere) so they shared an hours lesson. The instructor was brilliant with all the kids, the venue was also perfect.

DD1 (5yo) started and I was very proud as she's quite quiet and although has a natural position she's in no hurry to do any more that walk, but she had 3 trots of the long side and i think surprised herself how much she enjoyed it.:)

DD2 (6yo) hoped on half way through and after a lap came off the lead rein. DD2 doesn't have the 'pretty' position DD1 has, but she's got great balance and lots of bottle. So she enjoyed a quite a few good trots going solo she beamed the whole time!

Dc came an introduced herself which was lovely, pony travelled (backwards) beautifully on the way home, the girls can't wait for the next rally, and I feel so blessed to have 2 gorgeous daughters who share my passion in life!- GREAT TIMES!!!:D

DD1 (yes the saddle had slipped a bit!)

Hello nikCscott,

My son was in the same lesson as yours yesterday on a little grey pony (with me trying to get him to concentrate and not spend the whole time pulling faces in the arena mirrors which he prefers to do :o )

Glad you had fun, we joined last summer and so far have had good fun doing the rallies.

:)

Hi

Was your little boy 'J......'?

You'll think me rude, but I was so concentrating on the girls and how the pony was going to behave and still reeling from the drama of getting there I barely noticed the other children on ponies, but do remember Jo talking to a 'J......'.

I was really impressed- I was in the Vale back in the olden days, and it was a bit Cliquey back then and I've been tossing up between Vale and Ledbury for a while and after yesterday I really feel we made the right choice.

Next time please say hello :)

Lovely pics! Glad you had a good day:D

our first rally isn't until 1st April but daughter is already looking forward to it & she's 16 :D

aw those pics are lovely. glad you had a good time. i loved PC when my girls were younger. Unfortunately only one of them still rides and she doesn't really want to do PC anymore now she's 17!

Look at those big beaming smiles!:D How lovely!

Its something i wish i had done as a child but never got to experience so i hope that one day if i have kids i'll be able to share in the fun with them:D....knowing my luck i'll have a boy who loves karate  or something:rolleyes:

Bless them, big smile :D

We had a 6 year old throwing a tantrum yesterday, as due to weather the rally became a dismounted one, so they learned points of the horse and parts if the saddle.

She was pleased as punch when she knew what a chestnut was, and as a prize got a grotty chestnut as a prize :D

Well done to your two :)

Yes it was us, I think you were behind us at some point in the lesson :D and don't worry I didn't really see what everyone else was doing as a small boy pulling faces in the mirror or trotting his pony as fast as possible took all my concentration (he has a need for speed these days):p

I was recommended the Vale by a friend as it is very friendly and there were quite a few littlies joining up. Having not been a PC member myself I am loving it and we had good fun doing a couple of days of the mini camp in the sunshine last summer.

Will look out for you next time as we don't really know that many people as yet :)
