My vet has suggest a G & C supplement for our old girl who needs a bit of help with her clicky joints. The vet also suggested to not buy from them as they are mega expensive, and to source some from the web as it would be cheaper!

SO, having a nose around the net, seems there's lot out there. Does anyone use a supplement and can reccommend it?

We used human gel pills for our brittany for ages because they were cheaper than anything else and just broke them and put the gel on the food. Then we found the human powder in H&B and now use that.

Mine are on Glycoflex which comes in different strengths. I use iy at the sugestion of my vet as they are rots and both have problems associated with the breed. So far they are doing OK.

I used cortaflex in the past but I ordered some Bionic Biotin from Pooch & Mutt and came across their mobile bones which I also bought.

My dog hasn't been stiff since and 1 £10 bag lasts ages.

Rosie, my old ESS who is 13 and a half has been having the tesco g&c for about the last 4 years. We ran out earlier this year and she had about a week without them, she def seemed a bit stiffer for a couple of weeks. She still manages 2 off lead walks (well runs tbh) in the field every day and this time of year she is in the river at the drop of a hat. I was always a bit cynical about supplements but these have def helped the old girl.

Pedigree also do a chew which has the same quantities of glucosamine and chondritin plus green mussel powder. I buy it from a local feed merchant and £12.50 got me enough for 1 dog for 3 weeks. It will take some 6 weeks before you start to see any changes though.

When my old staffy bitch started to become a bit arthriticky I also bought her a bioflow collar - converted fan as it gave her a new lease of life. Also bought one for my brothers very elderly old staffie boy and it worked on him as well..
