Thank-you. That is so kind. I don't nornally do fundraisers (for charity yes, but never before for for myself or individuals) but she is just in such a desperate situaion! And no matter how careful/sensible you are re vet funds and insurance, no-one could predict a sequence of events like this.

Yes. She was travelling to a BE100 when a man died at the wheel and hit her head on. Lorry overturned. Both she and the horse were badly hurt. Still no insurance payout because of endless legal wranglings around problems with the dead man’s estate.

Then she was hacking Bertie as part of his rehab and a driver hit him and didn’t stop. The damage to his leg aggravated the back injury over the next few weeks and he went lamer and lamer, till vet re- xrayed and said he now had stress fractures in his spine and could not recover. A week later Cass was diagnosed.

I'm glad I know you AE because if I saw that history for a GoFundMe I'd assume it was exaggerated. But your friend has suffered 3 of my worst nightmares in a row and I can't sit on my hands any longer. I've made a small donation and I'll keep my eye on the total and top up more if the total doesn't get reached.

Thank you both so much. I agree it is scarcely believable that one person can have so much bad luck. Cass has no risk factors for OCD. He’s quite small as the mare is only 15hh. He’s lived out 24/7 all his life. He’s had the best start any youngster could have. He is such a sweetheart too.

That's another thing I can vouch for as well as yourself. The grazing your youngsters have been on is, forgive my language, as rough as a badger's arse. It simply can't be bettered for a young horse, it's incredible bad luck to have OCD.

I hope that your friend's luck turns around for both her and Cass.

Sorry that the donation isn't more, Chip apparently thinks whoever has the highest vet bill wins 🙈🙄
