Donated - sorry it's not more. I hope you reach the full amount, that's an absolutely awful series of events. One of those would be bad enough...

Thank you so much. ❤️

For anyone wondering what happens if surgery does not go ahead - all donations will be refunded. But with the amount raised already I’m fairly sure Cris will feel able to commit to a date soon x

Update for those following this...

Cass now has a surgery date. He is going to Newmarket on Wednesday for the operation on Thursday 14th September. Cris does not yet really have the money to pay for it, but she has enough to make initial payments and then 30 days after the op to find the rest. She is selling Bertie's tack and other kit, and will also have to borrow, but it is now do-able!

Thank you so much to all those who have donated and/or shared for giving Cris hope and Cass a chance. Any further help remains extremely welcome, if anyone feels able to chip in or share the fund raiser.

Another update:

Cass has had his surgery. It was a long and complicated operation, and sadly he may need another one in the future as it was not possible to fully resolve the issues. BUT they have done a great deal to improve the joints and feel he has a great chance of living a normal life now. He will be in hospital for a few more days and then will return home to complete his rehab. Thank-you all so much for your support, which is giving Cass a chance and Cris hope.

That's great news. I saw the update come through on the gofundme email and its always nice to 1) have an update and 2) hear that its gone well. Fingers crossed for a good recovery and that he can have a normal life even if another surgery is needed. I'm currently riding out with a local lady whose horse had to have a stifle operation as a youngster and you would never know.

Just a brief update as so many were kind enough to donate and might like to know how Cass is. Thursday was the big day - 24 hour turnout for the first time after box rest and a slow build up. He’s sound and looking great. Anyone recognise his rather bedraggled play mate?

What beautiful country side. So glad Cass is doing well.
