Going draghunting with the pony.....

Who are you going with? I went once, never going again lol, sticking with my normal hunt. Drag hunting isnt for the faint hearted (me in other words).

Already been on hound exercise with the bloodhounds three times this year!! I love it, although for very different reasons to foxhounds.

Got this AWESOME photo last month - I'm having it printed to be framed

Berks and Bucks :)

I LOVE it. I prefer it to normal hunting. Suits my TB lad down to the ground....gallop, jump, rest. Haha. I find it much more fun.

He's not fit enough yet though so won't take him till nearer November/Xmas, so ponykins it is ;) Though, at 17, is one thing she has never done.

Only one I have....short of our one and only hedge photo we managed to get....which was us flipping through it! Lol.

Lovely photo CrazyMare - a cracking hunting seat I see! (And thank you for posting on my thread on the hunt forum - it's nice when people reply!).

I do normal hunting but fancy having a crack at drag provided it's a suitably non-wild and hairy scary version. I think Berks & Bucks are within a reasonable commute for me so will check em out. Are they mad bad n dangerous to be out with?!

Berks and Bucks are lovely to go with! Most their meets are fab for anyone, as so many jumps are pretty much all optional and lovely ground when I've gone and lovely jumps. Any days which are 'wilder' days, ie, non-optional jumps and hedge days, are mentioned on their meet card on the website :)

I like it for the big, open country days. My little mare gets a bit fustrated when it gets very trappy, then she gets strong. A day out with the bloodhounds cheers her right up!

Cheshire Farmers are fine for anyone - guarantee a way around every fence and last Saturday there were four little girls on tiny ponies with us. Plenty of adults on big horses don't jump.

Children and beginner meets and Intro to Hunting meets with North East Cheshire are good for the less bold as well.

I just love the hedges :D !!

The problem i had was there were no breaks, it was just flat out all the time, no good for me with my dodgy body parts, i like to be able to have a good run & then a chance to catch your breath & my horse to have a rest. Have to admit as it was described as a 2* which was meant to be suitable for novice riders & young horses i was very disappointed.

I don't understand  . We generally have five or six legs and there is a lengthy break between each one while the scent is laid for the next leg.

Ditto. Had about 4 or 5 lines when I went, each were flat out with about 10-15 jumps in each one, but, after each one there was a 5-10 minute break after each one.
