Going to view a horse!

Or this chap..

Depends quite what they mean on ‘needs a job’ however.. but a decent stamp.
If this one isn't with Jack Thomas Watson he'll be close by so you could make the journey worthwhile and maybe see more than one?

I know he’s meant to have a good reputation but I would not recommend based on him selling a broken horse to a friend of mine and another friend used to work from him with not good reports…

I have several things going on at the moment and I'm not really looking or in the right headspace at the moment

I did like the look of the one horse but reality has kicked in and unfortunately being realistic, over the last 48hrs something has changed quite dramatically which I'm not prepared to go into. So I need to wait a bit longer as I have no idea how this will pan out and it's breaking my heart thinking about it.

Weve always ruled out going to see JTW would involve an overnight stay as it's a 9hr return journey minimum and we're certainly not in a position to do that at the moment with my partner or my mums health issues.

I know you don't want a Shire, a mare, or anything over 17.1hh but look, she's so pretty!
Yes you're right she is pretty. So is this one that Jessie is selling. She's got a good reputation too (Jessie not the horse). Feet aren't great though.

She would be more suitable (but for the feet) as I haven't got a spare 10k for a new car and bigger trailer combo or 20k for a lorry.

She is gorgeous 🥰

I know. If she was a gelding I'd think about asking for a video. But like I say I have enough on my plate at the moment. Although I still can't get Neil out of my head. 🤨
Can I ask why you'd only consider a gelding? I prefer mares 🙈 obviously it's personal preference but I find boys rather irritating in comparison! Mares can still be brilliant, switched on and matter of fact!

I'm not sure really, I think it's possibly because I've found them temperamental in the past.

I'd say widen your search to include the girls as well, they can be brilliant; gentle, loving, sensitive, and fun and when you find one you click with, you really click with them.
Can vouch for this. I feel like geldings are a lot like dogs who are just happy and love anyone and everything but when you earn that from a mare, it's something else. My mare is my entire world. It took a while to click all those years a go but God was it worth it.

It's just changing the perception.

Always had female dogs, mostly male horses. Don't know why.

I must say I am a mare person, and wouldn't have another gelding for various reasons. So I do understand Birker's position here in liking what she likes. I thought your horse Bailey was a mare though, so perhaps you can have another one in your life when you are ready?

Bailey was the same as your mare, spooky, would drop her shoulder at a filler she didn't like.

I had a mare who was the absolute best… like a lap dog but then just before I got BB I had a mare who was a bampot, bit the kids and kicked the farrier in the head so never again for me lol

Long story 😐

I was thinking the same thing 🤔 I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation instead of me thinking of transgender horses 🙈
I always thought it must be me getting confused, but never had the time (or desire) to go back through previous mentions to see which was correct.

Glad to hear I'm not losing the plot as much as I feared! 🥰

As a way of explaining and this isn't a new revelation because I've discussed it on here before and I do not wish to bring anymore relentless badgering or poking and prodding onto this post....

When I changed my user name many years back in an attempt to escape the intimidation on here from certain posters who were enjoying prodding and poking me to get me to bite I changed his sex in an attempt to hide from the perpetrators because I was geting really desperate and low but I still wanted to contribute to the forum and help others if I could.

It wasn't in an attempt to use two usernames at the same time, there was no cross over or intended malice. It was just to escape from the relentless bullying campaign levelled against me as evident from recent threads or at least evident to those that are clever to open their eyes enough to see through it all. I didn't mention any mare related health issues or anything, it was merely call him her in a desperate attempt to escape the constant hounding I experienced because it made me very poorly at the time.

If I have let people down I am sorry but I really was backed into a corner at the time.

Thats's why. I did have a mare in 1987 but after 3 months we sold her and I've never really wanted one since. 😐
