Went to Golden Cross today for BD, only did Prelim 10, I didn't think we were at all ready for affiliated but we just went for more experience. It wasn't as scary as I was expecting! When I got on Shadow felt half asleep and could probably have done with longer warming up but she was going quite nicely by the time we went in.
Trotting round before the bell she was a bit looky as always and they had put flowers at A which I thought she might spook at but she didn't!
Both our centre lines were wobbly and drifting right,
our trotwork was ok but it's been better, canter and free walk weren't great. It wasn't our best test but I didn't think it was too bad and she's definitely less tense than she used to be.
Looked at the scores and we got 55.4% which I was a bit disappointed with but I suppose it's not too bad as it was affiliated and all the scores were quite low even though there were some really nice horses there. 1st and 2nd were on 62 and 63.something% and the rest were below 60%. We came 4th out of 7 which I'm really pleased with and I don't think that's bad for our first affiliated.
We got all 5's and 6's and the comments said she needs to work more over her back to go in a rounder outline.
As there were some combined training classes they had a 2'6''-2'9'' clear round and I decided to take Shad in.
The ground was a bit slippery and I could definitely tell she didn't have studs in, but she jumped a lovely clear.
Overall a very successful day and Shad didn't put a foot wrong!!
Back to GX again on Wednesday for Trailblazers, doing P10 again and N21!
Seahorse was there too with Halfpass (sorry I didn't get to speak to you much but it was lovely to meet you!) but I'll let her tell you how she got on.
